Its neutrality and varying weights allow it to fit almost anywhere. The updated Helvetica Neue is very similar, and also a truly brilliant typeface.

2. DIN designed by the German Institute for Standardization in 1931, DIN is a fantastic, modern typeface that is still in wide use today

3. Futura designed in 1936 by Paul Renner, the bold variation is quite probably my favourite all-time font. It is a geometric, clean, modern font with lots of practical applications.
