Dear Neighbors, It has been an interesting week so far with a number of movements from various companies who operate

in our community. First, as you know, petroleum coke was being stored without a permit on the west portion of the Detroit River. The city of Detroit denied a request from the company to continue openly storing the pet coke on the property. However, now the company is appealing that denial. The city of Detroit Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) is holding a public hearing to discuss the appeal and desire to store material at this site located at 115 Rosa Parks Blvd. The storage of pet coke at this site has already had a profoundly negative impact on our community. Please know that the public will be allowed to submit comments at the hearing. It is crucial that you attend and voice your concerns and ask the questions that need to be answered.
