Substitutions are forbidden during the contest. Rules to live by: Points will be scored for correct answers to questions having pre-stated answers. No points will be subtracted for incorrect answers in preliminary rounds Should an answer be interjected from the audience, the question may be discarded at the official's discretion. Top teams will be selected on the basis of the abstract. Standard IEEE Format for submission. What can you submit? The challenge is to keep speaking, without making any errors whatsoever. There will be 8-10 participants per JAM session, subject to the JAM Masters discretion. Each speaker will speak on the given topic for only one minute Objections may be raised by other speakers which may include Early and Late start Grammatical and Syntactical errors Repetition Clarity of speech Context Top Ten scoring participants of the prelims shall be selected for finals. Finale shall consist of 3 rounds of JAM. Standard JAM rules shall apply. Speakers have to be (LMAO) funny (Brownie points for that!) The JAM masters decision cannot be opposed at any point of time. The Oxford dictionary will be used as a reference. God save the queen: NO AMERICAN SPELLINGS Round I: Written round- 25 words, 20 minutes Words, along with their meanings will be dictated and the participants will have to write the spellings of these words on the given sheet. Round II: Written round + Wordament i) Participants will be given a set of 10 words to spell. ii) They will also be given a grid of alphabets, from which they should produce individual (marks will be allotted according to the no. of alphabets used in each of the words) Round III: Viva voce [Oral Round] When a word is pronounced, the participant will have to pronounce the word and then proceed to spell it. (The participant can ask for the meaning of the word only) The first round will begin with each participant getting two words to be spelt. Student misspelling both the words will be eliminated. The student spelling both the words correctly will go to the next round. Students who have spelt word one correctly will have one word tie breakers to decide which of them goes to the next round. Subsequent rounds will be one word each, till a winner is decided. Rapid round could also be used.

Enliven. Sing your heart out. Registration: All contestants must submit an entry form, with only one entry per person. Time Limit: Contestants should not choose a song that is over 5 minutes. Additional time of 1 minute would be given for stage entry and exit Round I : Preliminary auditions (Results for the final round will be declared at the end of round I) Round II : Stage Finals Contestants must Send their backing tracks a day before the competition Memorize the songs they will be performing. Karaoke machine/screen/sheets will not be available for use. Contact the sound system service about any music tracks, hook-ups or other technical questions about open mic or karaoke. Find out about sound capability using backing tracks on CD, MP3 or iPod. Tracks should be rendered in 320 kbps or higher. Artists may sing with instruments or another artist backup. Acoustic instruments only, no percussion instruments will be permitted. Decisions of the judges are final and binding. The right to disqualify shall rest with the judges. Contestants are prohibited from having any contact with judges during the contest performance period. Any contestant arguing with the decision of the judges/ behaving offensively may warrant to disqualification. Any form of profanity/ suggestive attire will not be allowed. If there is any profanity in the lyrics, participants can replace it with appropriate language. Participants are expected to review the website for the exact location, dates and time slots for the competition.
