General Rules: (applicable to all participants)


All participants are requested to always wear their participation ID Cards when they are in the campus. They are also requested to carry their College ID Cards for security reasons failing which they will not be entertained to stay in the campus. All Participants are requested to maintain utmost discipline and professionalism. Smoking, consumption of alcohol and narcotics is strictly prohibited in the campus. The Organizers reserve all rights to disqualify any team or even escort them out of the college premises, if any disciplinary misbehavior arises. Participants who require accommodation facility are requested to intimate us well in advance (at least 15 days before the event dates). No outside food is allowed inside the campus; instead participants can use the mess facilities on daily payable basis. All Participants are requested to return all NICMAR properties if held (i.e. Room Keys etc.) before leaving the campus. All Participants are requested to take care of their belongings. The College or the Organizers take no responsibility for any lost property. Participants are requested to contact the event organizers if faced with any difficulties. All Teams should report 30 minutes before the schedule time of the event. Punctuality is of utmost importance and no late entrants shall be entertained. Team should not exceed the stipulated time limit of the events. Performances should not depict any element of vulgarity and use of unparliamentary language is strictly prohibited. If participants have any queries regarding the event, its rules or any other issues, they can meet any of the particular event organizers 15 min before the event. After that, participants wont be entertained. The Organizers reserve the right to change the schedule and rules of the events, if required. All participants would be intimated under such conditions. Participants are not allowed to question the judges discretion, which shall be final and binding in all respects. No appeals will be entertained in this regard. The Organizers reserve all rights to disqualify any team if any disciplinary misbehaviour arises during the events.

Substitutions are forbidden during the contest. Rules to live by: Points will be scored for correct answers to questions having pre-stated answers. No points will be subtracted for incorrect answers in preliminary rounds Should an answer be interjected from the audience, the question may be discarded at the official's discretion. There will be in-built tie-breakers within the set of questions, for all rounds. The rules and format of all the rounds will be shared with the teams by the Quizmaster before the Quiz. The Terms and Conditions of participation are subject to change at any time without specific notice. The challenge is to keep speaking, without making any errors whatsoever. There will be 8-10 participants per JAM session, subject to the JAM Masters discretion. Each speaker will speak on the given topic for only one minute Objections may be raised by other speakers which may include Early and Late start Grammatical and Syntactical errors Repetition Clarity of speech Context Top Ten scoring participants of the prelims shall be selected for finals. Finale shall consist of 3 rounds of JAM. Standard JAM rules shall apply. Speakers have to be (LMAO) funny (Brownie points for that!) The JAM masters decision cannot be opposed at any point of time. Use of Standard English (US/ British) is a must.

WordWise (Creative Writing) [Individual Event]

If everything around you seems like a story, and you wouldnt mind penning it down, this ones for you. Round I: Elimination Participants will be divided into groups of 5 or 6 (according to the judges discretion). Each group will be given a starting paragraph of a story, which they have to complete amongst themselves. 10 minutes will be given to the participants to discuss the paragraph and develop a storyline (setting, plot, characters, conflict and theme) based on the paragraph, and decide who will write which part of the story (narrative, plot, climax, ending or however they choose to divide the storyline). Note: Groups do not have to use the paragraph as the starting of the story, but develop their own starting. 15 minutes will be given to them, during which participants will write down the storyline without further discussion among themselves. Round II: (Time duration for the round: Max.1 hour) A video will be shown to the participants, along with a few pictures. Participants will have to write a short narrative/ poetic abstract/ description about each, as per the question. Round III: Surprise round ! 9|Page

LinkedIN [3 per team Mandatory]

Common Sense + Dramebaazi + Timing = LinkedIN Round I : Elimination One participant will be shown a picture of a famous personality (along with a list of taboo words) and the others will guess the name of the personality. Round II : Guess It The 1st participant will be given a word (Parent word) to explain and along with it, a list of taboo words will be provided which must not be used to explain the parent word. The 2nd participant will have to draw what he/she understands. The 3rd participant (who will be waiting outside the room) will have to guess what the parent word is, based on the drawing by the 2nd participant. If a taboo word is used by the 1st participant, then the contribution made by him/her will not be considered. In other words, no points will be awarded to the first participant. Round III : Finals- Connect the dots. A surprise round.

The Oxford dictionary will be used as a reference. God save the queen: NO AMERICAN SPELLINGS Round I: Written round- 25 words, 20 minutes Words, along with their meanings will be dictated and the participants will have to write the spellings of these words on the given sheet. Round II: Written round + Wordament i) Participants will be given a set of 10 words to spell. ii) They will also be given a grid of alphabets, from which they should produce individual (marks will be allotted according to the no. of alphabets used in each of the words) Round III: Viva voce [Oral Round] When a word is pronounced, the participant will have to pronounce the word and then proceed to spell it. (The participant can ask for the meaning of the word only) The first round will begin with each participant getting two words to be spelt. Student misspelling both the words will be eliminated. The student spelling both the words correctly will go to the next round. Students who have spelt word one correctly will have one word tie breakers to decide which of them goes to the next round. Subsequent rounds will be one word each, till a winner is decided. Rapid round could also be used.

Round II: Jugalbandi A song will be given on-the-spot to two participants to perform for one minute. The two participants will simultaneously compete with each other. Nukkad Natak (Street play) [8-15 per team, Any no. of teams per college]

Judging criteria: Script, theme, innovation, creativity, public response, props. Use of hazardous materials is not permitted. Avoid abuses and indecent exposures on and off stage. Additional time of 1 minute would be given for stage entry and exit Round I : Preliminary auditions (Results for the final round will be declared at the end of round I) Round II : Stage Finals Contestants must Send their backing tracks a day before the competition Memorize the songs they will be performing. Karaoke machine/screen/sheets will not be available for use. Contact the sound system service about any music tracks, hook-ups or other technical questions about open mic or karaoke. Find out about sound capability using backing tracks on CD, MP3 or iPod. Tracks should be rendered in 320 kbps or higher. Artists may sing with instruments or another artist backup. Acoustic instruments only, no percussion instruments will be permitted. Decisions of the judges are final and binding. The right to disqualify shall rest with the judges. Contestants are prohibited from having any contact with judges during the contest performance period. Any contestant arguing with the decision of the judges/ behaving offensively may warrant to disqualification. Any form of profanity/ suggestive attire will not be allowed. If there is any profanity in the lyrics, participants can replace it with appropriate language. Participants are expected to review the website for the exact location, dates and time slots for the competition.

Round I: In this round the team will have to work, based on only one theme. Ramp walk (full team) Formation on stage by the team in the end. Round II: In this round the team will have to select one male model and one female model from their team who will be representing the team for Mr. & Ms. Technikallah.
