Seminar on Water, Health and Sanitation (WASH) for the Communities within the Buhisan River Watershed

The United Nations declared the International Decade for Action: Water For Life covering the years 2005-2015. Likewise, the drive to 2015 is Sustainable Sanitation for All. By this premise, todays activity-workshop is very much on track with the

International Calls.

Water, Sanitation and Health initiatives are more appreciated if it takes on a full circle. This refers to looking at the sanitation concerns holistically from the catchment to the distribution, to the utilization of water of the various stakeholders and back to the catchment.

There are many challenges that may be identified and internalized during this 2-day WASH Workshop. However, may those challenges be translated to solutions and making this community a better place to live in.

The Metropolitan Cebu Water District carries on the mission of safe, potable, and affordable water. Of course, sanitation is a parallel direction for we cannot separate water and sanitation; for without water, there can be no sanitation. Both has to go hand in hand.

But both, needs US who can make these concerns realizable.
