About APCNDT 2013

APCNDT started in 1976 with the first conference being held in Japan. Over the last three decades, APCNDT has made considerable progress and has provided the international forum for highlighting the accomplishments in the field of non-destructive testing. The Pacific Committee on Non Destructive Testing comprises of 14 regular member countries and 6 supporting member countries from the Asia Pacific region. Its main objectives are to advance science and engineering related to non destructive testing in Asian and Pacific coastal countries by dissemination of information, encouraging research and to organize conferences devoted to mutual understanding among scientific and technical NDT experts. The Asia Pacific NDT Conference is held every four years, the last one was held in Yokohama, Japan in November 2009.

Message Chairman - ICNDT

Dear Colleagues and Friends in the World of NDT It is my honour and privilege as Chairman of ICNDT and an Honorary Member of ISNT to encourage and welcome your participation in the 14th APCNDT in Mumbai. The Asia Pacific Committee are important contributors to ICNDT and of course the Indian Society (ISNT) organised the largest ever World Conference (14th WCNDT) in 1996. It is not too soon to begin to plan your own personal involvement in the 14th APCNDT. You may want to sponsor one of the events, present your business in the large exhibition, give a paper, organise a workshop, participate in the conference, learn how to set up an NDT Society, or meet professional colleagues from all around the globe. as well as soaking up the atmosphere in India's vibrant financial capital. President - 14th APCNDT

14th APCNDT is an occasion of great scientific and technological relevance to the Asian Pacific region which is presently the hub of developments. With increased emphasis on safety and reliability through innovative, robust and cost effective technologies, the role of NDT from the cradle to the retirement of plants and components has assumed great significance especially in this decade. 14th APCNDT with its theme of Excellence with relevance would focus on the recent developments and applications in NDE and also the frontiers of basic and applied research and their applications. NDE in India took a giant leap after the successful 14th World Conference under the leadership of Dr. Baldev Raj and I am sure that the 14th APCNDT would again provide a paradigm shift. A strong Indian team has been put in place for making this yet another milestone event in the history of APCNDT. I am sure that with all your support, we would have a large dynamic gathering during 14th APCNDT. Our target is 1000 delegates and a minimum of 70 exhibitors. To my perception, this unique event cannot be missed by a professional associated with any facets of NDE science and technology, be it industry, research, academic, service providers, business or regulatory. We invite you all to the emerging and galloping India with unique versatility and creativity. Abstracts are invited in the field of Non-Destructive Testing & Evaluation related to: Research & Development, Industrial Application, Systems Innovation and Case Studies. Abstracts should be submitted on-line at the Conference Website. These will be presented during the parallel oral sessions and poster sessions. In addition, there will be Plenary and Invited talks by eminent speakers from India and abroad sharing their rich experience in various fields of non-destructive testing & evaluation. Sector specific sessions on NDT in various industries such as: Power, Oil & Gas, Chemical, Heavy Engineering, Metals, Aviation, Automobiles & Railways, Nuclear, Space & Defence, Construction, Shipping etc. will be conducted during the conference.
