com February 7, 2014 To PricewaterhouseCoopers: I am applying for a summer internship at PwC. I feel that I am very qualified and would be a perfect fit for any type of internship associated with the company. Last summer I worked for a private financial services firm and the summer before I worked in the sports management industry. In 2012, I worked as the Operations Intern for the 2012 Bridgestone Invitational in Akron, OH. I was responsible for all tournament set up and tear down. I was put in charge of installing the fences, portable restrooms, and dumpsters. I also showed my patience and scheduling skills since I was in charge of distributing the golf carts to everyone who was working the tournament. Additionally, before the start of the tournament, I had to create a spreadsheet in order to craft the restriction-specific badges for the media, caterers, etc. Moreover, I made sales calls to club members to try to get them to buy either one-day tickets or full packages to the event. I believe the tournament went smoothly so I feel that I can handle a big responsibility load and not fall over under the pressure. Last summer I worked for a private financial services firm in Canton, OH. I labored underneath the founder and current Chairman of GDK & Company. The company handles large amounts of money for clients via investing and creating insurance policies. They also offer consulting support and advice to said clients. I had many different duties while working for the company. In addition to helping out with any clerical work, one of my main jobs throughout the summer was to help my employer build his customer base. I was given guidelines for research such as the locations of the target companies, their yearly revenues, age of the CEO, etc. I created a spreadsheet of more than 40 firms with basic information and individual outlines for each company that included everything from the companys incorporation date to where the CEO went to high school. I learned how to extensively research and honed my Google skills working on this project. Moreover, I gained experience in the online website eMoney. I helped input client information and gained a few insurance vernaculars as well such as basic interpretation of form 5500 and the positives of borrowing off of life insurance rather than other forms of funding. My summer was not spent increasing my finance or accounting education, however I did learn basic skills and sat in on sales calls so I gained much experience in the inner-workings of the business world.

I also believe I have ample international experience. Firstly, I lived in Singapore for a little over 3 years in the early 2000s. From this experience I developed the ability to see issues from differing viewpoints. I went to an American school but lived in the center of the city. I had American friends, but I also befriended natives and other expats from countries outside the U.S. In fact I even saw the 9/11 attacks from a different standpoint as I was living in Singapore at the time of the incident. Additionally I studied abroad in London for the Fall 2012 semester, which opened me up to various European customs and overall differences in global financing; this was especially true due to the lingering economic impacts from the recession in many parts of Europe that I traveled to and read about. I learned about monetary policies, global management, and the disparities of doing business in foreign countries. I believe my experience with people and my global perspective would be a great addition to the PwC professional team. I am currently finishing up my senior year at Syracuse University with majors in both finance and accounting and a minor in sports management. With the variety of my course load, I believe I could offer a very diverse educational background to PwC. Additionally, I will be enrolling at the University of Texas at Austin in the fall of 2014 to pursue my Master in Professional Accounting. My track is aimed towards financial reporting and assurance. From there, I plan on completing the CPA exam and working towards a future in business, most likely geared towards the financial or accounting sectors. I am available the whole summer from the beginning of June to the end of August. I currently live in Hudson, Ohio, but I am available to work wherever needed. I can be reached for an interview by telephone on the number 281-773-1559 or by email at zdagler@gmail.com. Thank you for your consideration and I look forward to hearing back. Sincerely, Zachary Agler
