HARVEST BAPTIST CHURCH PRAYER DIARY SUNDAY MORNING SERVICE TIMES 9:00 & 10:45A.M.

MONDAYEVANGELISTIC PRAYER Chronological Bible Reading: Leviticus 10-12; Matthew 25:1-23 Monday, February 10 Jer. 31:33 I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. Lord God and Loving Savior: This one verse contains everything my lost friends need. To get happiness they need something that will satisfy. Are you not enough? Help them pour this promise into their cup so they can say with David, My cup runneth over. If you can say to them, I am thy God, then they possess all things. My desires are as insatiable as death, and unfulfilled desires are as cruel as the grave. But my God, you can fill them! Who can measure the capacity of my dreams? But you can overflow them! Draw __________ and __________this week to seek and find you to be made complete. Help them understand they do not lack anything except God! Your all-sufficiency is enough to satisfy and secure, even if everything else fails. Save them, but give them more than just quiet satisfaction; let them testify about their delight in the Lord. I pray this for my children and for my disciples. Give them their own relationship with you, one they rejoice in as an ocean of praise. We will dive throughout eternity and never touch bottom in you. May they bathe their spirit in a direct, personal relationship with you even this week. I want more than present affluence, Lord. I crave something I can exercise hope about. Today I hope for the fulfillment of that promise, I will be their God, toward my friends who are in need of faith in Jesus for salvation. This is the masterpiece of promises, because it gives them heaven and an eternal purpose. Help me live up to my privileges today as a child of God, and so draw others to the Master. Make me a good witness for you, for so I ask through Jesus name and to his glory, because he alone is worthy. Amen. A DAILY PATTERN FOR PRAYER & BIBLE READING Chronological Bible Reading: Leviticus 19-21; Matthew 26:38-75 Thursday, February 13 1 Cor. 6:19-20 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are Gods. TUESDAYFOCUS ON CHRISTS LIFE Chronological Bible Reading: Leviticus 13-15; Matthew 25:24-46 Tuesday, February 11 Luke 23:30 Then shall they begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us; and to the hills, Cover us. Lord and Master: In reading your comments I often do not know if you are talking about the then soon-to-come siege of Jerusalem (now past), or the more distant prophecy of the Tribulation (yet future). In your mind the one was such a foreshadowing and rehearsal of the other that the two seem to melt into a single event. Rev. 9:6 And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them. As if, in that day, extinction is a privilege too great to be allowed for the ungodly. The earth will have no bowels of compassion for the race that polluted her with blood and rejected her Lord. Luke 23:31 For if they do these things in a green tree, what shall be done in the dry? If you suffered so Lord, when you had done nothing amiss, then how much more will God be righteous in punishing those who reject you? Fire warning! If you suffered, and had no sin, but were full of the sap of holiness, how will they suffer who have been long dead in sin, and are rotten and dried-up with iniquity? 1 Pet. 4:17-18 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? Will you help me ready my house and ready my life? Help me give out a warning to the wicked. The most accurate picture of what awaits them is the death and the sufferings of Christ. For God, if you spared not your own Sonon whom was only laid imputed sinhow will you spare sinners whose sins are their own? Lord, help us preach the redeeming nature of your cross! Amen. FRIDAY CORPORATE PRAYER MINISTRY Chronological Bible Reading: Leviticus 22-24; Matthew 27:1-22 Friday, February 14 Zech. 10:12 And I will strengthen them in the LORD; and they shall walk up and down in his name, saith the LORD. God Our Great King: Sometimes we need support like a sick saint. Oftentimes we grow faint and afraid we will never rise from our bed of doubts and distractions. Thank you, Great Physician, for removing our greatest disease at the cross. Take away now also the weakness that comes with it, and take it away through our prayer of faith. We need you to strengthen the feeble (thats me!). We know you will do it the best possible way, because Zechariah says we will gain strength in the LORD. That strength is better, because it comes from God rather than ourselves. In the Lord strength causes fellowship (our own strength would only create pride) In the Lord strength is unlimited (our own strength runs-out too soon) Since strength is offered, Lord make us use it. We want to walk up and down today in the name and power of the Lord. Make us weak, because only then will we be truly desperate for your strength. Make us dependent on you. Thank you for giving us liberty in Christ, and an inward rest and peace to exercise that liberty. Let us use your power in gentleness today. John 15:15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends;. You have not made us slaves who know no rest and see no sights. No, you have called us friends, free to travel at our leisure throughout Immanuels land. Come, heart; be no more sick or sorry, for Jesus bids us be strong. We will walk today in prayer without ceasing so we can obey his word in love. This is the pathway for revival, and we ask for it in Jesus matchless name. Amen. WEDNESDAYREVIVAL PRAYING Chronological Bible Reading: Leviticus 16-18; Matthew 26:1-37 Wednesday, February 12 Rom. 15:19 Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; Mighty Lord of Mercies: 1. The Spirit of God enlivens souls and brings spiritual revival. All the spiritual life that exists in this world is the creation of your Spirit. I did not have enough life to know I was dead until you visited, and opened my eyes to my blindness. Likewise, your Spirit is necessary to make everything I do come to life. I can neither fulfill vocation nor family role without him. I act mechanically and hypocritically unless your Spirit is motivating me. Only you, Holy Spirit, can make my witness alive. I am desperately dependent on you! I continually cry to you to quicken (enliven) me in all things. 2. The Spirit of God enlightens his people. You have done so by inspiring your word, but I never completely understand my Bible apart from the personal teaching of the Spirit. If I memorize it, I do well in learning the letter of truth, but I still need the Spirit of God to make it light and power to my soul (which is revival). Transfer your word to my heart! Set it on fire and make it burn! Error is sure to arise where doctrine is not known by experience. Holy Spirit, if you do not teach me, then my knowledge will produce pride and breed conceit. Help me search the scriptures with a teachable heart, and submit my mind, my opinions, and my decisions to the light of the Spirit therein. Give me strength by your Spirit to teach others; to really disciple them, and not merely instruct them. I pray for your power. I need your illumination. Come, O Light of God. Both burn within and shine without. Draw others to the only safe haven for their souls. Lead me into a state of continuous revival as I continually walk in your Spirit. Give me grace. Bring me power. Let me win souls to the Savior. I can do all through Christ when I have his free Spirit. Amen. SATURDAYIN THE PSALMS Chronological Bible Reading: Leviticus 25-27; Matthew 27:23-44 Saturday, February 15 Psa. 87:1 His foundation is in the holy mountains. Majestic Master and My God: The foundation of my life is anchored in your word. You take care of all the arrangements for my calling, salvation, maintenance, and perfection. And then all your attributeslike the mountains around Jerusalemlend their strength for support. I believe you take delight in the prayers and praises of your people. I believe you have a special delight in my private devotion and worship, which I give to you right now. My home is important, but I must not prefer it to identifying with you. Help me never faint or fail, for I lean on you. Psa. 88:2 Let my prayer come before thee: incline thine ear unto my cry; As long as I have you as the life of my salvation, my hope can never completely die. The characteristic of true faith is that it always turns to you when all other friends prove to be liars. Problems will not blow-out the sparks of my prayer. Instead, stormy winds will fan the flame until its a furnace at full blast. Even if others have not prayed, I will do so! Neither the busyness of the day, nor the weariness of the night, nor the weakness of the flesh will silence it. Such praying will never be in vain. Day and night I need you. I will go with Daniel and pray where people can see me, but I will also go with Jacob to the Jabbok and wrestle until the daybreak. There are obstacles that hinder the upward flight of my prayer. So Lord remove them. Give me grace to keep praying beyond them. I hope for patience that will enable me to endure until they are in the past and I am still praying! Psa. 88:1 O LORD God of my salvation, I have cried day and night before thee: And I have found help and hope in crying. Thank you Jesus. Amen.

THE love of God is greater far than tongue or pen can ever tell;
It goes beyond the highest star, and reaches to the lowest hell; The guilty pair, bowed down with care, God gave His Son to win; His erring child He reconciled, and pardoned from his sin. When hoary time shall pass away, and earthly thrones and kingdoms fall, When men who here refuse to pray, on rocks and hills and mountains call, Gods love so sure, shall still endure, all measureless and strong; Redeeming grace to Adams racethe saints and angels song. Could we with ink the ocean fill, and were the skies of parchment made, Were every stalk on earth a quill, and every man a scribe by trade; To write the love of God above would drain the ocean dry; Nor could the scroll contain the whole, though stretched from sky to sky. Oh, love of God, how rich and pure! How measureless and strong! It shall forevermore endurethe saints and angels song. Frederick M. Lehman, 1917; v. 3 by Meir Ben Isaac Nehorai, 1950

PRAYER DIARY

1)

TIMEWORSHIP Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

" INTERCEDE WITH GOD " INSTRUCT SAINTS " PROMPT PETITIONS " KICKSTART DEVOTION

GIVE GOD THE FIRST PART OF EVERY DAY. The first commitment is to a daily quiet time with God. Our weekly Prayer Diary provides a template for daily devotions. 2) TITHEWORK 1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come. GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our resources. 3) TEAMWORD Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the same things over and over. This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you through the Bible chronologically in a year. Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying. Alan

QUALITY CHRISTIANITY INVOLVES THREE THINGS

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had prayed. Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition. God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son. Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
