TWO YEARS FULL TIME MASTERS OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES (MMS) BATCH 2013-2015
FOR GUJARATI LINGUISTIC MINORITY SEATS (GLMS) / INSTITUTE LEVEL SEATS

GENERAL INFORMATION :
The information contained in this admission booklet is based on MAH-MBA/MMS-CMAT 2013 Information Brochure issued by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra State, Mumbai. The candidates are advised to study the same for further information. NUMBER OF SEATS : To be decided by the Pravesh Niyantran Samiti, Bandra (E), Mumbai / Published in the above brochure by Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra State, Mumbai ELIGIBILITY : Basic Qualifications 1. Passed with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA (45% in case of candidates of backward class categories belonging to Maharashtra State only) (as defined in the Information Brochure issued by Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra State, Mumbai for admission to MAH-MBA/MMS-CMAT 2013) in any Bachelors degree awarded by any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 of minimum three years of Indian duration in any discipline recognized by the Association Universities, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. OR Appeared for the final year examination of any Bachelors degree to be awarded by any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 of minimum three years duration in any discipline recognized by the Association of Indian Universities, or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India. Such candidates, who fulfill the remaining eligibility criteria, will be offered provisional admission subject to the condition that they will pass the examination with the required percentage of marks on or before 25 September 2013.

AND

FOR GUJARATI LINGUISTIC MINORITY (GLMS) CANDIDATES Appeared for the Common Management Aptitude Test (CMAT). The Institute will short list the eligible candidates on the basis of CMAT score for next stage of admission Process. All such candidates will have to undergo i. Written Case Analysis ii. Written case analysis and personal interview will be conducted on 26th and 27th June 2013. Each of the shortlisted candidates will be intimated through email. Candidates must belong to the Gujarati Linguistic Minority and be domiciled in the State of Maharashtra for 15 years. His / her parents must be Gujarati speaking & his/her mother tongue must be Gujarati.

List of certificates to be produced for verification by candidates for Gujarati Linguistic Minority Seats 1. 2. Maharashtra Domicile Certificate (for 15 years stay in Maharashtra) School Leaving Certificate indicating Mother Tongue as Gujarati or a Certificate from the School Principal indicating as per school records mother tongue is Gujarati. An affidavit on Rs.100/- (Rupees Hundred only) Stamp Paper solemnly affirming that the candidate belongs to Gujarati Speaking Community, duly signed in the presence of the Executive Magistrate of the Court. (Format available on website) Authentic proof of belonging to Gujarati Speaking Linguistic Minority Community in Maharashtra, such as copy of Community Membership Register (Vasti Patrak).

For Institute Level Seats:


Appeared for the Common Management Aptitude Test (CMAT). The admission will be on the basis of final score which comprises of CMAT, Written Case Analysis and Personal Interview. MERIT LIST : For Gujarati Linguistic minority candidates: Merit list will be prepared on the basis of the Final Score comprising of CMAT + WCA + PI. For Institute Level Seats: Merit list will be prepared on the basis of the Final Score Card comprising of CMAT + WCA + PI.. All admissions done as per above will be provisional and will be subject to verification of original documents and approval from Joint Director of Technical Education, Directorate of Technical Education, University of Mumbai and Pravesh Niyantran samiti. All disputes regarding the above are subject to Jurisdiction of Mumbai High Court in Mumbai.

POST GRADUATE REGISTRATION AND ELIGIBILITY :


All candidates selected for admission to any Masters Degree Programmes are required to register with the University as Post-graduate students. No candidate will be allowed to pursue any other course of this / any other University simultaneously. Selection of the candidates for admission to any of the Masters Degree Programme is provisional and confirmed only on fulfilling the following: (i) Candidates, who are graduates of the University of Mumbai, will be required to Produce Transference Certificates from Constituent College of this University, last attended by them, at the time of admission, if selected.

(ii) Candidates who are graduates of other Universities will be required to produce a provisional statement of eligibility issued by the Registrar, University of Mumbai, declaring them eligible for admission to the course. The admission will only be confirmed after confirmation of their eligibility by the University. (iii) A provisional Eligibility Certificate is issued by the Registrar of University of Mumbai, Kalina Campus to candidate, who is prima facie found eligible for admission to the course on making an application in the prescribed form and on paying the prescribed fee in cash for the students migrating to the Universities in the state of Maharashtra. (iv) Finally, Statement of Eligibility required for confirmation of Eligibility should be submitted to the University through the Institute latest by the end of the first semester. 2

MEDICAL FITNESS :

The Institute may refer a candidate to the appropriate medical authority to ascertain the physical fitness or otherwise, before admitting him/her to the programme. CONDUCT : The Institute shall have the right to satisfy itself about the conduct and character of a candidate by verifying the antecedents of a candidate through the appropriate policeauthority before admitting him/her to the Institute. COMMENCEMENT OF CLASSES : The date of commencement of classes will be as announced by DTE in the MAHMBA/MMS CMAT - 2013 Information Brochure or as revised by DTE / announced by the institute through its website / email communication. ATTENDANCE : Under ordinance 119 the minimum attendance necessary for keeping terms is three fourth of the days on which lectures are delivered in the First Term and the Second Term separately. Students should note that if they fail to satisfy the above requirements, they will not be permitted to appear at the institute / University examinations and will have to take fresh admission and to keep fresh term. No request for waiver of the same on whatsoever ground will be entertained. ACTION AGAINST RAGGING: Maharashtra Probibition of Ragging Act 1999 and its amendments which may be published from time to time. The Act is in effect from 15th May, 1999 has the following provisions for Action against Ragging. a) Ragging within or outside of any educational institution is prohibited, b) Whosoever directly or indirectly commits, participates in, abets, or propagates ragging within or outside any educational institution shall, on conviction, be punished with imprisonment for a term up to 2 years and / or penalty, which may extend to ten thousand rupees. c) Any student convicted of an offence of ragging shall be dismissed from the educational institution for a period of five years from the date of order of such dismissal. Any Acts or its amendments which may be published from time to time or Judgments by Hon. Supreme Court of India, Hon. High Court of Bombay etc. will be applicable to Candidates and Insitutions covered under these rules of admission.

FEE STRUCTURE :
To be decided by the Shikshan Shulk Samiti, Bandra (E), Mumbai, set up by the Govt. of Maharashtra. REFUND OF FEE : Candidates who have been provisionally admitted may cancel their admission by submitting an application in duplicate, and may request for refund of fee. Refund of fee as applicable shall be made in due course. It is made clear that such application for cancellation will be considered, if and only if the admission is taken provisionally by paying the prescribed tuition fee and by submitting original documents as mentioned in these rules. Refund of tuition fee and other fee shall be made after deduction of the cancellation charges as shown below: Sr. No 1 SITUATION Request Received before date of start of academic session & seat could be filled by the Institute before the cutoff date Request received after start of academic session & Seat could be filled by the Institute before the cutoff date Request received before/after start of academic session & Seat could not be filled by the Institute. Note: Entire amount of Security/Caution Money Deposit is to be refunded to candidate. # For calculation of Cancellation Charges on pro rata basis, one month shall be treated as one unit e.g. if the candidate cancels admission on third day i.e. within one month after start of academic session and the seat is filled before the cutoff date, then Cancellation Charges on pro rata basis will be the higher amount out of (Entire fee)/12 or Rs. 1000/-

The institute reserves the right to change any of the parameters, conditions, fee structure and refund rules as well as course curriculum due to exigencies of situation and / or on the advice / guidance of the AICTE / DTE / University of Mumbai or Shikshan Shulk Samiti. SCHOLARSHIPS : The students will be eligible to apply for minority scholarship of Government of Maharashtra as per rules framed by the respective competent authority.
