POND PREPARATION
• Drying and Raking: - 20-30 days drying to
reduce bacterial load.
• Water source: - “Gutadia khadi” near
Matwad village.
• Water Filling, Filtration & Treatment: -
using pump water is taken and bleaching
powder is applied for disinfection.

Mixture of 10 kg rice bran + 10
kg sugar + 100 gm yeast was prepared in 50
lit water for 1 ha pond and allowed to
ferment for 5-6 days in tank.
•Environ AC (Biostat India ltd) 1st dose @
10 kg/ha before stocking and 2nd dose @
5kg/ha/week for algal bloom.
STOCKING

• For stocking Golden yellow water color is

preferred.
• Seed purchased from “VAISHAKHI
Biomarine Pvt. Ltd.” located at Chennai.
• They purchase only PCR, MBV, and
Wrinkling tested seed.
• Stocking was done by Tank aeration method.
• Total stocking density was 6 lakh seed.
• Stocking density was 6 No/M2.
• Total area: - 17 ha.
• Pond under culture at present: - 14 No.
STOCKING BY TANK AERATION
METHOD
FEEDING MANAGEMENT

• CP (Charoen Pokphand) brand feed was

used.
• Feeding was done four times per day.
• For feeding (1) Boat feeding and (2) dyke
feeding method was followed.
BLIND FEEDING
• Blind feeding was done for first 45 days.
• Schedule for blind feeding for 1 lakh seed…
•  1 – 10 DOC: - 1-1.5 kg/day & 200-
gm/day increments.
•  11 – 30 DOC: - 400 gm/day
increment.
•  30 – 45 DOC: - 30gm/day increment
BOAT FEEDING
CHECK TRAY FEEDING
•Why it is?
To analyze Feed consumption, survival, health
status of shrimp and to control feeding rate.
• 10 % feed of total feed.
• After 2 hrs check tray is observed and on the
basis of this feeding management is done.
Water quality management

Water quality is important as it direct affect

the shrimp health and growth. So water quality
should be maintain at its optimum.

• Salinity: - 18-25 ppt.

• pH: - 7.5 to 8.5
• Alkalinity: - 100-200 ppm
• DO2: - 10 ppm
PROBIOTICS

•Why it is?
It helps to overcome stress & provide high
survival rate & enhance uniform growth of
shrimp.
These 2 Probiotics were used at Samapore.
•SUPER BIOTIC (Zymatin and Mutazene)
•SUPER-PS
Sampling

• Why it is?
Do it at regular interval to
Predict health status
Growth rate
Survival rate
Calculate ABW and FCR for better
feeding management
• Here sampling was done every week after
45 days of stocking.
• Sampling was done by cast net.
• They take sample from each pond and
sent in CP lab for testing.
AERATION
•It is used to maintain DO2.
• Pushing area should be bigger than the
pulling area for better aeration.
• Three different types aerators were used.
Aerators are run 2 hrs during day time and 6 hrs
during night.

SPIRAL AERATOR
LONG ARM AERATOR
HARVESTING
When shrimp attain 30-35 gm weight,
harvesting is done using bag net.
Harvested shrimp are mixed with ice(1:1).
Harvest in early morning and in pre molt
stage.
MARKETING
Buyers are from Bombay
Castle rock

COMMON DISEASE
PROBLEM
Disease problem faced by shrimp farmers are
as follow…
Protozoan infection (Zoothamium)
White spot disease (WSSV)
White gut
Blue shell
Black gill
Tail rot
