About the process


The placement team, consisting of the MBA students of DoMS, IIT Madras under the guidance of the faculty advisors and the institutes central placement office conduct the final placement process and summer internship process every year. The summer internship selection process is a rolling process that usually starts in the first quarter of our academic session. Various companies which express their interests in the talent pool of DoMS participate in the recruitment process with the help of student driven placement committee.

Highlights
All 99 students of the batch were placed by the first week of May A total of 33 companies recruited summer interns through DoMS, IIT Madras Average salary offered to students for the duration of internship was INR 24,0001 Highest compensation offered for the internship period was INR 1,40,000 Median compensation offered was 20,000

Sales, Marketing & Advertising


Larger portion of the batch interested in Sales and Marketing found themselves placed in organizations such as Idea, TVS Tyres, Caf Coffee Day and Bitlasoft. Students have been placed at various cities by their respective company according to their on-going requirements. WIPRO inducted students for WiSE, their structured summer internship program Students were also offered roles in brand management and advertising by DraftFCB+ULKA, Adjetter and Money4drive.com.

2 Consulting
21% of the batch was offered consultancy projects in various sectors by both the private and government players. The recruiters include Frost & Sullivan, KPMG, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, Madhya Pradesh School of Governance & Policy Analysis, Government of Bihar and Job Junction.

Finance
A total of 22% of the batch was offered profiles in Finance and Financial Marketing by Kotak, HDFC Life, TVS Capital Funds Ltd., Finideas, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited and TVS Tyres. Citibank recruited interns for their global banking operations

Operations
DoMS, IIT Madras, known for its contributions to the field of Operations Management saw 10% of its students being offered Operations profile in sectors spanning from consumer goods and heavy machinery to automotive. The recruiters were Reckitt Benckiser, Toshiba Machines, Quest Global, Brakes India and TVS Tyres.

Analytics
Our students have always done us proud when it comes to analytics. With the increasing importance of analytics in every company we see a continuous growth in the number of students opting for it. 7% of the batch was offered Analytics project by Hewlett-Packard, The Enterprise Genie and Rang De (a NGO focusing on Microfinance).

Others
General Management profile, which cuts across various disciplines of management, was offered by Medall. Roles in HR were offered by IndianOil Skytanking, Quest Global, Toshiba Machines, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited and TVS Tyres
