Graduation Ceremony Schedule


The graduation ceremonies will take place on Saturday 30 November 2013 in the BUE Auditorium. Accordingly, we are pleased to announce the times for the Graduation Ceremonies for the Class of 2013 as listed below:

Awards Ceremony for Top Performing Students


To be attended: by all BUE Graduands and the guests of the top performing students Faculty of Business, Economics and Political Science

Ceremony 2 2:30 pm-3.30 pm

Ceremony 3 4:30 pm-5:30 pm

Faculty of Informatics & Computer Science Faculty of Nursing

Ceremony 4 6:30 pm-7:30 pm

Faculty of Engineering

All updates will be announced on this webpage, so please check regularly to ensure you do not miss what is going on at your graduation!

Important Notice
Please use the following checklist as a guide to make sure that you complete ALL of the steps required to receive your academic dress & your tickets 1. You MUST fill out the Online Alumni Form by no later than Thursday 14 November 2013. Please click here to log into the SRS system to complete the required form. In case you have forgotten your username and password, please send an e-mail to: Ibrahim.Maaty@bue.edu.eg 2. Make sure to get your Clearance Form signed from the Finance Office, Student Affairs Office and Library. 3. Make sure to complete the Graduate Feedback Form. Please click here to print the Graduate Feedback Form.

4. You MUST submit the Graduate Feedback Form and the Clearance Form on your Rehearsal Day
at the Graduation Office, Building C, Ground Floor.

Rehearsals
Rehearsals will be held in the BUE Auditorium on the below dates. The rehearsals will start at 11.00 a.m. and will last for 20 minutes. However, the graduation office will be open from 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. You can either pick up your tickets and academic dress before your rehearsal or afterwards.

Tuesday 19 November 2013: 10.00 a.m. - 1.00 p.m. For students receiving Degrees in Informatics & Computer Science and Nursing

Wednesday 20 November 2013: 10.00 a.m.-1.00 p.m. For students receiving Degrees in Business Administration, Economics & Political Science

Thursday 21 November 2013: 10.00 a.m.- 1.00 p.m. For students receiving Degrees in Engineering

Getting your Degree Certificate You will not receive your degree certificate at the graduation ceremonies, but you
will get a congratulation note on stage. You will be informed when your certificate will be available for collection.

Graduating In absentia
If you are unable to attend your ceremony, kindly send an e-mail immediately to Mrs. Samira Dewis, Assistant Head of Student Activities on Samira.Dewis@bue.edu.eg, with your Name, ID Faculty and Major. Your degree will be conferred in absentia (in your absence).

Cost
All graduands are asked to pay EGP 650 as a contribution towards the cost of their academic dress (which you may keep), the Yearbook, the Year photo and a DVD of their ceremony. Fees should be paid at the Graduation Office, Building C, Ground Floor. Graduands must show their receipts in order to receive their academic dress and tickets. Graduates who return their academic dress (hood, gown & cap) in good condition by 9 December 2013 will receive a refund of EGP 300.

Tickets
All graduands will be allocated Three tickets for their ceremony, as follows:One student access Two guest tickets per student.

Academic Dress
Please collect your Gown, Hood, Cap and tickets from the Graduation Office located in Building C, Ground Floor. You can pick them up on rehearsal Days (refer to rehearsals above).

You are expected to wear the full academic dress (cap, gown and hood). Graduands should robe before entering the assembly area. Staff will be on hand if you need any assistance. Leave valuables and other items with parents, friends or guests as you will not be able to store any personal belongings in the assembly area. The gown should be ironed and worn straight. The cap, gown and hood should be worn throughout the ceremony. The tassel is to hang on the front right side of the cap. Arrival & Assembly Graduands must arrive promptly and robed at the time specified for assembly ( see Assembly times below). You will then be lined up to form the graduands procession. Graduands who arrive late must march at the end of the procession. Once the procession has begun, there is no opportunity to join the group and you will be graduated in absentia. Assembly times Saturday 30th November 2013 All graduands must assemble at 10.30 a.m. You must re-assemble one hour before your relevant ceremony.

Programmes
Printed programmes listing graduates' names and majors will be distributed at the graduation ceremonies.

Guest Seating
Guests need to show their tickets for admission to the BUE. Guests are asked to enter through the main entrance and proceed directly to their seats. Seating is on a first-come, first-seated basis. No guests are permitted in the graduands seating area or the first four rows of the Main Auditorium, which will be reserved for BUE guests, including the guests of honour and members of the Board of Trustees. Graduation protocol does not permit seating of guests during the procession: late arrivals must wait to be seated until the procession ends.

DVD
Please note that you can pick up a DVD of your ceremony six weeks after the event from the nd Office of Public Relations, 2 floor Building E, Room no 309.

Graduation Protocol
Graduation marks the pinnacle of academic achievement and the University proudly celebrates the occasion with formal pomp. Please help us to provide a memorable event for all involved. Ensure that your guests arrive promptly and are seated before the procession. begins. Guest seating is first-come, first-seated. Guests will not be seated during the procession; late arrivals must wait until the procession ends. Cell phones should be silent. Dress Code is formal. Please remain seated for the entire ceremony and be silent during speeches as a sign of respect for all graduates and the speaker. Please remind your guests that while photographs are encouraged, they must remain seated when photographing or videotaping any portion of the ceremony. No one is permitted in the aisles during the ceremony. Photographs of each graduate as they cross the stage are available from professional photographers.
