Power Cable and Plug
Pleasebesuretofollowthefollowinginstructionsinordertopreventthedevice
frommalfunctioningandtopreventelectricalshock,fires,andinjuries:
Youneedtoremovethepowerplugtodisconnectthepowercompletely.
Whendisconnectingthepowertoyourbox,alwaysunplugitbypullingthe
plugitselfandnotthecable.
Donoteverpluginorunplugthepowercablewithwethands.
Keepthepowercableawayfromheatersandradiators.
Neverputheavyobjectsonthepowercable.
Donottrytorepairthepowercableyourselfortomodifyitinanyway,
shape,orform.
Regularlycleanoffthedust,dirt,etc.fromtheplug.
Ifyoudroptheboxordamageitinanyfashion,disconnectthepowerplug.
Ifyounoticesmoke,strangesmells,ornoises,disconnectthepowerplug.
Contactyourdealerimmediately.
Duringathunderstorm,donotconnectordisconnecttheantennaordata
transmissionlines.

Where Not to Install the Box
Donotinstalltheboxinanyofthefollowinglocations:
Indirectsunlight,nexttoradiatorsorotherheatsourcesorinvehicles
parkedindirectsunlightwithallthewindowsrolledupandthedoors
closed,
Locationswithextremelyhightemperatures(35C/95Forgreater)orlevels
ofhumidity(90%orgreater),
Verydustyorsandylocations,
Locationswheretherearevibrations,shakingorslantedsurfaces
underneath.Thiscoulddamagethecomponentsinthebox.
Onflammablesurfacessuchasclothcoveredtables.
Keeptheboxawayfromflowervases,bathtubs,sinks,etc.,andfrom
locationswheretheboxisexposedtoprecipitation.Theboxmaybe
severelydamagedifanyliquidentersit.
Problems with Other Devices

Setuptheboxinahorizontalpositionanddonotplaceanyheavyobjects
onit.
Donotplacetheboxonanamplifieroranyotherdevicethatgivesoffheat.
Housing and Internal Components

Neverremoveoropenanypartofthehousinganddonottrytoperform
anyrepairsyourself.Anymaintenanceorrepairworkshouldbedonebya
qualifiedtechnician.
Keepfingersandobjectsawayfromtheinsideofthebox.
Itisdangeroustotouchanyofthecomponentsinsidethebox.Doingso
mayinjureyouanddamagethebox.
Donotplaceanyobjectsonthebox.
Theboxshouldonlybecleanedwithasoft,dry,antistaticcloth.
General Information

Condensation
Condensationmaydevelopintheboxinthefollowingcircumstances:
Rightafteranearbyheaterorradiatorwhichhasbeenturnedon,
Inaveryhumidorsteamfilledroom,
Iftheboxwasmovedfromacoldlocationtoawarmone.
Condensationintheboxmaycauseittomalfunction.Inthiscase,turnoffthebox
andwaitaround1houruntilthecondensationhasevaporated.Thenyoucanuse
itagain.
Non-Use
Ifyouarenotplanningtousethedeviceforalongperiod,youshould
unplugitfromthepowersocket.
Accessories
Useonlytheaccessoriesincludedwithorrecommendedforthedevicein
ordertominimizetheriskoffire,electricalshockorinterference.

ThisistheeasiestandfastestwaytosetupyourBroadwayandthenwatchdigital
TVinyourlocalnetwork.
WerecommendthisprocedurefortheinitialBroadwaysetup.
UsethissetupscenariowhentheTVsignalsourceandtherouterofyournetwork
areinproximity.
E.g.yourTVsignalcomesoutofanantennawallsocketandyourbroadband
Internetconnectionisrightbesidetheantennasocket.Inthiscaseawired
connectionbetweenBroadwayandrouterwouldbetheoptimumsolution.
Forasuccessfulinstallationfollowthesesteps:

Makesuretheincludedpoweradapterisinsertedintothebodyofthepower

ForthesetupprocedureyoucanaccessBroadwayfromaclientdeviceofthe

Important:BEFOREaccessingBroadway,makesuretherouterisconnectedtothe
Internetandyourclientdeviceisconnectedtothelocalnetwork.
Startthewebbrowserofyourclientdevice.
IntheURLaddressfieldtypein:distan.tv
Alternatively,youcaneithertypeintheIPAddressofyourBroadwaydevice(to
befoundonyourroutersstatuspage)orbroadway.boxwhenusingBroadwayin
aWindowsenvironment.
Theuserinterfaceopenswiththelogindialog.

Note:Thedefaultadministratorpasswordisadmin.

Step 4: Follow the Instructions of the Broadway Setup Wizard
TheBroadwaySetupWizardhelpsyoutoeasilyconfigureyourBroadwaydevice
andrunthefirstchannelscan.
JustfollowtheinstructionsoftheWizardand:
WhenpromptedtochoosehowtoconnectBroadwaytotherouter,makesure
toselecttheoptionOperatewired(viacable).
Whenselectingthechannelscanparameters,makesuretoselectthecorrect
locationfromtheLocationdropdownmenu.

Connectarooftopantennaoracoaxialcabletotheantennainput(ANT)of
yourBroadway.
Ifyouusearooftopantennareceptiondependsonyourlocationandcanbe
impairedbytallneighboringbuildings.PleaseconnecttheANTInputofyour
Broadwaytoyourrooftopantennausingadoubleshieldedantennacablein
ordertogetthebestpossiblesignalquality.
If,whenaskedtoselectyoursources,youmarkedTVTunerwithconnected
TVantennaorcableasyourpreferredsetuponly,theLiveTVpageopens.
YouhavesuccessfullycompletedtheWizardandarereadytowatchTV
now.
IfyouselectedAVINwithconnectedsettopboxandIRBlastersupportin
addition,theIRLearningWizardwillstartautomatically.
