1. Introduction
This document provides the steps to be carried to install the institute server in colleges which are participating in the QEEE program.

2. Scope
This document scope includes the installation of institute server. For configuration of the institute server please refer the QEEE user manual

4. CentOS and application installation


a) Create a DVD from the downloaded ISO image b) Copy the downloaded application on to a pen drive. IMPORTANT: The downloaded Zip file must be extracted in LINUX machine only. c) Insert the USB drive and place the Centos 6.5 disk in DVD drive and reboot the server by pressing Ctrl-Alt-Del.

d) The server will boot from DVD and Welcome screen will appear as shown in Figure 1 (Welcome to centos 6.5). Press Esc key.

e) The boot: prompt will appear as shown in Figure 2, enter the following command in boot prompt and press enter.

boot: linux ks=hd:sda1:/ks.cfg


f) Installation Process will be started and continue as indicated in the figures below: (Creating Partition)

The packages selected in the ks.cfg file will be installed as shown in the Figure 5.

h) The System will restart and Installation will get completed. i) Now the server will Load the CENT OS 6.5 as shown in the Figure 6.

(Figure 6) j) After loading into Centos 6.5 the login screen will appear as shown in the Figure 7.

(Figure7) k) Two logins will be created namely backup and qeee The default password for both accounts and the root account is qeee (without double quotes) Login as root to continue with the network interface configuration.

5. Application Installation
a) Login as root in the Terminal. For login as root enter the following command in the terminal. Please find the below picture for reference.

[qeee@localhost ~]# su Password: qeee

1. Type the following command to mount your USB drive to install the QEEE application as shown below.

mount /dev/sdc1 /media press Enter cd /media press enter

2. Type the following command in the terminal for installing the QEEE Application [root@localhost#] cd install_script Press Enter [root@localhost#] ./qeeeins.sh Press Enter

Qeee Installation process will be started 3. Wait until system gets reboot to complete the installation.

6. Interface Configuration
a) Open -> Applications -> System -> Terminal b) Enter the following command to login as root

[qeee@localhost#] su Password: qeee

login as root and type setup in the terminal as shown in the below figure

d) Text mode utility setup will be opened as shown in the Figure (a).

e) Next Select the Network Configuration Tool as shown in the Figure (b) and press Enter.

h) Choose your Network Configuration and press TAB key and press enter when OK button is highlighted as shown in the Figure (e).

7.

IP configuration for application

a) Login as root user in the terminal. b) Enter the following command and press enter to configure the QEEE application as shown in the figure 1.

[root@localhost ~]# /usr/local/bin/qeeeconfig.sh

c) The server will prompt for the IP address; enter your server IP to finish the configuration. Once its finished server will show as below picture.
