VICEPRESIDENCY OF RESEARCH, DEVELOPMENT AND INNOVATION
UNIVERSIDAD DE SANTIAGO DE CHILE
The Universidad de Santiago de Chile is inviting to apply for postdoctoral positions in an Applied Research and
Innovation center currently under creation (CITIAPS) which will be devoted to foster innovation through software
products originated from advances in information, computing, psychological, behavioral and neuro sciences.
Opportunities for a great career development are unique as the Center is open to new ideas and project proposals,
and will promote interdisciplinary applied research teams.
Positions are annual, with the possibility of a renewal subject to a performance review. The work will involve the
development of science that can be transformed into software products focused on wellbeing, happiness,
performance and/or have wide positive social applicability. Because of that, the ability to work as part of a
multidisciplinary team as well as the ability to work independently is a must. Salary is defined by the university
regulations and is equivalent to salaries for its academic staff. The successful candidates will be expected to start on

a. Graduate Studies: PhD in Psychology, Behavioral Sciences,
Sciences, Quantitative Methods or
similar
or
PhD in Neurosciences or similar
b. Must have an exceptional productivity given their trajectory, measured in indexed
papers and/or projects.
c. Must be fluent in either English or Spanish and have an intermediate level of the other
language, ideally demonstrable with a standardized test.
d. Ideally had experience in cognition, technology, human computer interaction,
computer games or similar.
e. Ideally had worked with multidisciplinary teams before.
f. Ideally had worked in science based innovation projects before.

An application letter. Include an indication of why you would want to work with us and
why you feel you are suitable for the post. Include a statement of research interests.
Attach an extended Curriculum Vitae with references to all your papers.
Include one or two papers of relevance for the application in which you are the
corresponding or first author. In exceptional cases, you can attach papers in which you
are not the main author.
Include two (2) recommendation letters and list the references in your CV. Be advised
that we will contact them if we are interested in your resume.
Include a scanned copy of your PhD degree. If selected, you will have to present the
original documentation. You may not have completed the PhD program at the time of
the application but you are required to be a PhD holder at the time the position starts.

In this case the candidate must send a statement of his/her PhD thesis supervisor
indicating the date of the thesis dissertation.

La Universidad de Santiago de Chile invita a postular a posiciones para postdoctorandos en un centro de
investigacin aplicada y desarrollo actualmente en creacin (CITIAPS) que estar dedicado a fomentar la innovacin
a travs de software originado desde avances en las ciencias de las informacin, computacin, psicolgicas, y
comportamentales. Existen oportunidades para el desarrollo de una Carrera nica dentro del centro, ya que est
abierto a nuevas ideas y propuestas de proyectos, as como promover integracin interdisciplinaria entre los
equipos de investigacin aplicada.
Las posiciones son anuales y sujetas a renovacin previa evaluacin del desempeo. El trabajo considera el
desarrollo de ciencia que pueda ser convertida en productos de software enfocados en bienestar, felicidad,
desempeo y/o tengan amplia usabilidad social. Por ello, la habilidad de trabajar tanto en grupos multidisciplinarios
as como de manera independiente es estrictamente necesario. El salario es definido de acuerdo a los
procedimientos internos de la Universidad y es equivalente a la categora de acadmico. Se espera que los
candidatos seleccionados puedan comenzar a trabajar el 1 de Abril o en una fecha posterior acordada entre la
Universidad y el candidato.

a. Doctorado en; Psicologa, Ciencias Comportamentales, Mtodos Cuantitativos o similar
o
Doctorado en Neurociencias o similar
b. Debe tener una productividad excepcional para su trayectoria, medida en papers
indexados y proyectos.
c. Debe tener un manejo intermedio del ingls. (Mnimo lectura de documentos tcnicos).
d. Idealmente tiene experiencia en cognicin, tecnologas, interaccin humano
computador, juegos de computadora o similar.
e. Idealmente ha trabajado en grupos multidisciplinarios.
f. Idealmente ha trabajado en proyectos de innovacin basada en ciencia.

Incluye copia de uno o dos papers que consideres relevantes para la postulacin donde
hayas sido el Autor Correspondiente o Primer Autor. En casos excepcionales, incluye
papers donde no hayas sido el autor principal.
d. Dos (2) cartas de recomendacin. Lista las referencias y sus datos de contacto. Si tu CV
nos interesa, nos pondremos en contacto con tus recomendadores.
e. Incluye una escaneo de tu ttulo de Doctorado. Por favor considera que si eres
seleccionado debers entregar toda la informacin en original a la Universidad. Si no
tienes el ttulo de Doctor en el momento de la postulacin puedes enviar una carta de
tu gua de tesis sealando la fecha de graduacin esperada. Para comenzar a trabajar
debes tener el ttulo de Doctor.
