Summer B Migration Update - 04/12/13

Migration
Interviews for new migration specialist positions are almost complete, and we are pleased to have a well-qualified group of candidates to choose from, including Champlain College students and graduates. Our goal is to have up to four part-time specialists on board and trained in time for the May Collaborative and Fall course migration. The deadline is important because we plan to offer walk-in course migration training for faculty during the Collaborative, and through the summer for faculty teaching on-campus courses. And we are still on course for our 19 Summer B courses migrated by April 19!

Training

The Introduction to Canvas for Faculty course (for the Summer A Instructors) is over officially, but there are still few instructors finishing up. The eLearning team has decided to keep the course open to the enrolled instructors so they can reference it throughout the summer when they teach in Canvas. There has been great feedback from instructors whove finished the course and the majority feel that after taking the course they are now highly prepared to teach within the Canvas environment this summer. The next Introduction to Canvas for Faculty course session for instructors teaching during Summer B term is set to begin May 17th and run until June 9th.
