On-campus Course Migration: We recently finalized our strategy for working with a set of on-campus instructors who had significant content in Angel. A list of approximately 33 courses were chosen to be migrated, in order to provide extra support and training to on-campus faculty during our learning management system transition. Lynne Ballard, Josh Blumberg and Joanna Cummings met with the deans and operations managers in BUS, CCM, EHS, COR and ITS for recommendations about instructors who would be interested in participating in this form of hands-on Canvas migration training. The content sources have been identified, we have interacted already with several of the instructors, and we will send out emails to everyone on the list next week to explain the process, what the timeline will be, and what they can expect from it. The list of on-campus courses and instructors is included at the end of this document. The migration team is also prepared to assist facultyespecially on-campus instructors who would like one-on-one assistance with migrating their content from Angel to Canvas. The training may include demonstrations on how to copy or import content from Angel, syllabus conversion and upload, a tour of the gradebook, assignments, and discussions, and answers to your questions about quizzes and question banks. The Migration Lab is located on the second floor of the library (same room as the Math Lab). Hours are 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday throughout the summer. Instructors may also contact elearning@champlain.edu to set up a time to come in and work on their courses.

Fall A Migration has begun in earnest and our team has moved us ahead of schedule. An important goal for the migration project has been to get as many courses as possible into Canvas each semester, so that Angel after hours support may be eliminated. At our current rate we will achieve this important milestone for Fall A courses, and all instructors will be able to use the Canvas Tier One system for after-hours support!

Training Update
On-Campus Faculty Training for the Fall is still being finalized, but we have dates set for the August training sessions: August 13th, 15th, and 22nd there will be New Users Training/Hands-on Workshops for Faculty in the mornin and topic sessions (to be determined) in the afternoons. August 20th, Jordan from Instructure will be flying in (from Utah), so we will have him do several Intro to Canvas trainings for Faculty, and Emily will be running hands-on open-lab type session after each training for those aculty who want to continue to work with an Expert and get help. We also plan to hold more Topics sessions at least once a month throughout the Fall term, which Emily will lead, based on the needs faculty have as they begin to teach using Canvas.

Plan for Fall A Online Instructors: The Fall A instructors who teach online will be enrolled in the training course July 12thAugust 4th. Recent Training News From Emily Wargo: May Collaborative: May Collaborative trainings were a success, with turnout for all sessions totaling approximately 55 on-campus faculty members. Additional Trainings on Friday, May 15th: Josh ran an Info Session for faculty/staff who werent able to attend any of his previous ones and people who might have missed the May Collaborative. Emily ran a Hands-on Canvas Workshop with faculty. Summer B On-line Faculty Training: Hosted a webinar for the Summer B instructors last week. Staff Specific Training Monday: Emily will be running a training session on Monday (the 20th) that will be staff specific to show the uses Canvas can offer for staff. This is from 1:30-3 in MIC 308. Dublin/Montreal Training: Finished a training session with five Dublin/Montreal Staff/Admins on 05/15/2013.

Additional Info Sessions in June and July: Dates have been finalized for two more info sessions that Josh will teach for the Summer: June 27th (9-10:30am) and July 16th (1:30-3pm) for New Canvas Users, both in MIC 308. Faculty and staff will be notified of these dates by email.

Q&A Webinar for Summer A Online Instructors in Canvas: Josh/Emily are thinking about the possibility of getting a group together to run a ebinar to discuss how teaching in Canvas has been for them so far and if there are any particular things that have given them trouble. Its still being determined if there is a need for this, but we may send out a survey to all who recently participated in the course, to determine if this is necessary. 2
