Calgary, AB As designers from across the province and the world are strutting their stuff on the runway this week, many observers will be looking on in awe and perhaps feeling a bit overwhelmed. But author and lifestyle expert Tina O'Connor says on-lookers needn't feel discouraged by the looks heading down the catwalk. In fact, Fashion Week is the perfect time for people to get inspired! O'Connor, the author of Be That Girl, specializes in helping women develop and nurture their own sense of style, even on a budget. Her styling workshops are hot commodities after her recent crosscountry Release Your Inner Girl tour and she's looking forward to seeing what the new trends are and helping women everywhere achieve their own 'Top Model' looks. "There's a tendency for people to write off fashion events and dismiss what they're seeing as a possibility for themselves, saying 'oh, I could never pull that off', or 'I could never afford that, why even try?'" But O'Connor says that women shouldn't be scared off by the runway. " You don't have to copy an entire look just pull out parts that you like and integrate them into your own wardrobe. Fashion Week is a great opportunity for anyone to go out and see what's new and exciting in the world of style and get inspired." O'Connor is no stranger to the fashion scene, routinely blogging about the latest trends and appearing on television shows to help women to adapt high fashion looks into their everyday wardrobe.

"I really want women to feel excited by fashion trends, not intimidated. Remember, your shape is never a liability, but rather an asset waiting to be discovered!," says the self-confessed fashion addict. "It's about learning how to accentuate the parts of your body that you love! Don't get bogged down worrying about those parts you don'tand everyone has them, even models." Tina will be watching the season's new trends closely as they emerge on the catwalk and sharing her tips with readers and followers throughout the week.
