We learned that Napster itself didn't technically violate any laws. It was the users of Napster that are guilty of copyright infringement. We used this venn diagram as a picture on our rights and responsibilities page. It is a good tool to use when you are trying to decide if your use of a certain work is legal. This is very important to our project because the theme is rights and responsibilities. This gives some good information about what you can and cannot use with copyrighted material. Knight, Diana. We learned that the punishment for illegal commercial use of copyrighted material is much more severe than personal use too. This interview informed us all about fair use and copyright laws for music. As a music teacher, Mitchell provided information on how to use, distribute music, and copy music legally.
