Molinet English12 After School Tutoring Teachers try their best to do this, but with large classes it is hard to give every single child the time and attention they might need to fully grasp the lessons. After school tutoring allows students to get the personal one-on-one help they may need from someone. Some of the benefits of after school tutoring include improved grades, supervision, and social development. After school tutoring provides students the opportunity to reinforce and better understand lessons. They have a chance to have any new questions answered and explained in a way to further their understanding. In after school tutoring, a tutor is able to focus on specific areas that a child may be struggling in (6). . There are fewer distractions then in a classroom, so children have an easier time at

focusing on what is being studied rather being distracted by friends, noises and other interruptions (6). This setting also gives children an opportunity to catch-up on missed material. Along with answering questions from shy children and going more into detail about something a child might not of fully understood (6). After school tutoring gives parents after-school supervision for their children, while also being productive by helping with their homework. It gives children someone to help them stay on task, while also answering any questions they may have. This gives children

a place to go to after school that will help them, instead of not having anywhere to go, or just going home and watching TV or play games (4). After school tutoring also, helps develop good work habits. Hopefully they will eventually develop the skills to go home and work on their homework and study on their own without having someone keeping them on task (1). This will lead to better time management skills and improved grades. After school tutoring offers a safe and productive environment for students to go to after school. It gives them a chance to have any questions they may have answered and someone to explain something that they do not understand. This allows students with specific needs such as attention disorders to have someone work with them one-on-one and keep them on task (2). After school tutoring gives children an opportunity to have a face-to-face relationship with a mentor. This type of interaction allows children to grow and learn how to interact with other people in a learning environment (3). It prepares them for the future in studying appropriately and how to interact with peers in study groups. In conclusion after school tutoring is a program that provides a safe and productive environment for children, to have any unanswered questions answered. It also provides children to have a more personalized learning experience.
