ACADEMIA LATINOAMERICANA DE ESPAOL


Complete 6 Credits of Spanish Instruction Class hours: M 8:30 to 12:30 or A 2-6:00

Class structure: Spanish consists of 1-2 hours of grammar everyday depending on the syllabus used by the Academia and 2-3 hours of development of the different oral skills by means of group exercise with a maximum of 5 student of the same Spanish level.

Class Evaluation: Homework& research 30%;Test and essays 20%; class participation (10%); Final exam 40% Completion of the ISS course (2 weeks of additional course work, 2 hours a day).

archeological sites and museums in Cusco and the Sacred Valley (e.g., Sacshauman, Pisaq, Ollantaytambo, etc.), A local indigenous community (e.g., Chicheros, etc.), an NGO engaged in community development in the region of Cusco (e.g., Asociacin AndesParque de la Papa) A one day field trip to Aguas Calientes with a guided tour of Machu Picchu.

Huamachuco (June 22 August 2, 2014) Live with a new host family Work on service learning assignments Conduct research projects Free time to explore, dance, sing, play volleyball, get to know your family and make friends.

SERVICE LEARNING AND PARTICIPATORY RESEARCH IN HUAMACHUCO

This is where you learn how to build trust and understanding in another community for mutual growth and reciprocity.

FLEXIBLE ACADEMIC CREDIT IN HUAMACHUCO A minimum of three credits are required, six recommended Students need to meet with their academic advisors and college study abroad representatives to make certain proper academic credits are earned through participating in this program Evaluate credit/noncredit options

PAST EXPERIENCES IN HUAMACHUCO


Dancing, dancing, dancing and some karaoke. Eating lots and loosing weight. Meeting with municipal leaders, Rotarians. Meeting with local TV Station and Peace Corp volunteers. Participating in local celebrations and parades. Attending birthday parties, church and family events. Hiking.

Study abroad is an investment in your future. Like other investments it requires commitment and planning.
Make savings a priority Tap into financial aid; in most cases, the same scholarship, grant, and loan amounts you receive for on-campus study are applied to the study abroad program; financial assistance from OSA and OFA Scholarship opportunities check OSA website; check out the Gilman Scholarship Fundraising

Cost (Current estimated fees)

Program Fee :

$4,950.00 $3,770.00

Application fee, Acceptance fees, Housing, Food, Group Tours and Activities, and Instate travel; program leaders travel expenses Airfare to and from Peru-$1500, Spending Money-$1,000, Additional meals- $400, other transportation costs in country- $350, passport and other smaller expenses making up the difference
