James V. Bulian is a lmmaker, recently showcased in the Oxford Film Festival, who has been taking the local lm world by storm.! Jim is one of the best directors Ive ever worked with and Ive worked with some of the biggest in the business, said actor Johnny McPhail, who was recently in HBOs True Detective.!

Owner of Old Venice Pizza Co., Bulian woke up a year and a half ago realizing he wanted to write and direct movies. His short, Bellringer, recently won the Audience Award at the Memphis 48 Hour Film Festival. Bellringer, along with Long Black Limousine, were shown at the 2014 Oxford Film Festival.! I consider myself an artist, and under that umbrella a lot falls underneath thereI just try to combine it all and then I felt like lmmaking was where I should place a lot of my energies, said Bulian.! (What he learned from his latest work)! I think the one thing I learned is to know your role. Whether youre a gaff, grip, or whatever youre doing, know that role completely and just execute that as best as you can, said Bulian.! (Advice to new lmmakers)! Bulians advice to know lmmakers, For directors or anybody else trying to make a lm, I think you have to go all in. You have to be dedicated to the craft, and if thats the case then I would suggest starting at the very bottom. Whatever that may be on set just to get on a set. Get experienceand then move on up the ranks.! (What fans thought of Long Black Limousine)! Mike Townsend, a fan, said Bulian keeps it creative, interesting, intriguing.! (What peers think of his directing)! He has a vision and he knows what it is hes looking for, said Danny Klimetz, he only wants to produced the best. Every lm hes worked on, you can see how its better than the time before.!

Bulian is currently in the process of writing a feature about two half-brothers whos personalities and looks are stuck in 1972. Hes currently in talks with investors about possible funding. Bulian also started his own vodka company called Artist Vodka. He hopes to fund future lm endeavors for himself and other indie lms through product placement of his vodka. ! Klimetz said, keep an eye out for him. Hes got a lot of scripts hes working on. I think well see a lot of stuff from him.!
