AWESOME COVERS!

All Authors Magazine Presents:

AWESOME COVERS!

1) Where did the inspiration for the cover come from? The general idea came from my husband. Early on in the publishing process, my publisher sent me a form to fill out for the artist. It asked lots of questions about what I'd like to see for the cover, and what elements of the book it should include. My husband said that it would be neat if we showcased the themes of light and dark and opposite attraction on the cover. o I described to the artist an idea of !ynn's and "ethin's faces kind of put together and facing away from each other. The artist came up with the rest# 2) Do you feel that it reflects the story well? $bsolutely# %ot only does it portray the opposite nature of their magic, it also depicts how they are connected, entwined in fate no matter their choices. $nd I love that the artist included the lands they come from, since some of the struggle in the book originates from !ynn discovering where her allegiance lies. 3) Did you design it yourself or was it designed by another party? It was designed by an artist my publisher assigned me, &ohn 'hilip (ameron. I am very impressed with his work# The cover he did for the sequel to )unula, called Inito, is actually my favorite of the two. 4) Given the choice would you change anything about it? *efinitely not# !hen they sent it to me and asked my opinion about it, I was over+oyed with the concept. ,andom factMy best friend had a blanket made, a kind of felt quilted masterpiece, of my cover as a (hristmas present. It is seriously incredible# !) Was this the original cover to this boo" or was there one prior #li"e a first edition)? This is the original. $) Does this cover reflect your artistic preference? %ot really, no. .ut you know what/ That's a good thing# It looks almost ci01i in a way, but it gives it a new edge I didn't plan on using. I think it appeals to a broader range of readers now, instead of +ust women, who I thought would like the book more. I came to discover that men have en+oyed it +ust as much#
