Instructions: Answer ALL questions. Show the formula and steps in every calculation. You are advised to spend 30 minutes on this part.

QUESTION 1 If item-analysis data showed that an item was answered correctly by 8 out of 10 students in the upper group and 6 out of 10 students in the lower group, (i) (ii) (iii) what is the index of item difficulty? what is the index of discriminating power? explain briefly whether this item is considered effective or ineffective. (8 marks)

QUESTION 2 Below are the scores of a Geography class of sixteen students:
