BENEFITS
l
Versatility - The Data Director is versatile. In addition to being able to communicate with all versions of Microsoft Dynamics NAV or AX, it can also communicate with Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Access.
Resilience - The Data Director is resilient to network and server breakdowns. In case of a network or server breakdown, packages are queued up until connections have been re-established and the transmission can continue.
Remote Administration - Remote administration is built into the Data Director. Abnormal events are logged into the Microsoft Windows Event Log.
Total integration - The Data Director is managed through the familiar M i c r o s o f t D y n a m i c s N AV / A X environment. It is fully integrated with Microsoft Dynamics NAV/AX and LS Retail.

NAV
Methods of replication Normal - It reads the records from source database, finds the corresponding records in l destination database, and makes them identical l Normal with Replication Counter - A normal replication with Replication Counter limits the records replicated each time. Replication Counter value is incremented when there is any insertion or modification in the records of that table. l By Action - Whenever there is any change (insert, modify, delete or rename) in the records of a table, system keeps track of those changes. Using By Actions method, the system uses Preaction/Actions to replicate data from source table to destination.
Modes of Data Director Data Director This is the regular flavour of Data Director. This mode is used to send l data between databases and is non-interactive. l 2nd Stage Data Director This mode of Data Director is used to forward the data packages being created by Data Director Service running in Data Director Mode. l Transaction Server This is interactive mode of Data Director used by POS to make queries into remote databases.
FEATURES
Data Director l l l l l l l Replication l l l l l l Speeds up the replication process up to 20 times, compared to previous replication methods Exchanges data with databases that are not based on Microsoft Dynamics NAV Sends data much faster and requires less bandwidth Reduces drastically the time spent in reading data from the source database Able to communicate with all versions of Microsoft Dynamics NAV Communicates also with Microsoft SQL Server 7.0, Microsoft Access, Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and beyond, Resilient to network and server breakdowns. It allows replication of data between two databases. It allows to schedule the replication of each table at user defined intervals. It allows controlling data distribution i.e., which records are to be replicated where. It allows identifies and configures the fields in a table that are to be replicated depending on their functionality. It offers several methods of replication, based on the core area of interest be it the replication time or the need to extend replicated data from databases to POS terminals, all depending on the tables being replicated. It allows replication of data between two databases that do not have the same table and field structure.
