OBJECTIVES
1. To educate the public about advancements that could come from the study of biological materials. 2. To encourage the donation of specimens. 3. To quantify disease incidence in various populations and subpopulations. 4. To enhance understanding of the natural history and risk factors of diseases, including genome-environment interactions. 5. To accelerate the discovery and development of new diagnostics and therapeutics. Research Focus Broad approach with no specific target of interest (study built as an infrastructure for a broad range of unspecified scientific activities/questions). Target specific questions of interest (predefined scientific targets like, cardiovascular diseases, social environment, specific health trajectories etc.) (Health and diseade outcome, health determinants, risk factors and predictors of diseases/conditions)

Finally, we plan to conduct nested case-control studies within the cohort. Supplementary informations This study will be concerned with two biobanking groups: 1. A prospective family-based study group, with an expected sample of 100,000 people of all ages, comprising about 20,000 to 25,000 families, after adjusting for the drop-outs, to examine these interactions in a range of common late onset diseases. 2. Disease-specific biobanking group, where samples of people affected by certain diseases such as; cancer (10,000), diabetes (10,000), coronary arteries diseases with one or more risk factors (10,000) (DM, hypertension, etc), hepatitis (5000), obesity (5000), bronchial asthma (5000), chronic renal impairment and failure (5000), stroke (5000), other diseases will be determined following discussion in the steering and international advisory committees etc.( around 100,000 cases) will be allocated from the specialized clinics and primary healthcare clinics.
