Origination Team Manager Hired to manage team of loan officers and processors for production of loans in Toll Brothers western division: California, Washington, Texas, Arizona, and Colorado.
Managed team of five to seven loan officers. Coordinated referral and business development efforts with banks retail branches to increase mortgage referrals and deepen banking relationships: district increase in applications of 596% representing 579% of goal. As part of this effort, devised and implemented in-store Realtor of the Week program to leverage realtor business relationships and increase purchase loan business.
Participated in Morgan Stanley plan to develop a book of prospects interested in long-term financial and retirement planning.
Responsible for retail residential mortgage production throughout New Mexico and parts of Texas. Increased production, boosted the pull-through ratio, improved the quality of loan submissions, and increased adherence to compliance guidelines. I achieved these through a combination of coaching and educational initiatives, as well as by conducting pre-underwriting loan reviews and quality assurance follow-ups.
Re-organized and re-energized the mortgage department, returning it to profitability within a six month period. Originated and serviced a portfolio of permanent and construction loans; was the lead underwriter for sold loans. Expanded the departments loan menu to include construction loans, acquisition and development loans, and lot loans. Created a true single-close loan product. Worked closely with Private Banking to service borrowing needs of high net worth individuals. Designed and implemented a bank-wide mortgage education and training program. Opened real estate lending branch for the new Mortgage Division of Bank 1 st, Albuquerque. Originated, processed, and serviced all construction and permanent residential real estate loans.

Full responsibility for the daily operation and administration of private boarding school for children with learning disabilities. Revamped the schools public profile and strategic plans, established a new marketing strategy and operating procedures, and brought personnel expenditures under control. The school had extensive vocational and recreational offerings as well as a strong educational component, and it was essential to coordinate everything for compliance with the states education, health, fire, medical, and pharmacy regulators. By gaining accreditation by the North Central Association, the number and quality of enrollment applications improved, thereby broadening students options for enrollment in mainstream high school and college programs.

Trained and managed team of account managers in the analysis and processing of financial statements, tax returns and property documents for loans to high net worth individuals. Worked on banks behalf to coordinate lending with Shearson-Lehman in New York. Managed 715 loans totaling $294 million in two years. Received Shearsons Superior Service Award for exemplary performance in closing large, complex loans.
I started out in banking here, in the proof and bookkeeping departments. When I found out the bank had been cited in an audit for not having acceptable manuals for procedures and operations, I volunteered to compile them as part of my MBA degree requirement. When I was promoted to the Mortgage Department, I also put together a process for logging and tracking mortgage loans.
