SUPPLEMENTAL AFFIDAVIT IN
SUPPORT OF PROBABLE CAUSE

THOMAS J. SANDERSaffirms under the penalty for perjury and states: I am a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for the 60th Judicial Circuit and make this affidavit after viewing verified South Bend Police Department and st. Joseph County Special Victims Unit report~. On February 15, 2014, Sara Cooper contacted the South Bend Police Department and reported that she tlad not seen her daughter Heather Gipperictl for several days. Ms. Cooper advised that she and Heather got into an argument the preceding weekend and Heather left to stay wittl a friend. Heather took her eight-month-old baby B. G. with her. Ms. Cooper stated that Heather contacted Ms. cooper on February 14 and said that she was going to stop by, but never showed up. Ms. Cooper stated that Heather is addicted to heroin. Police located Heather Gipperich on February 16, 2014 and brought her to the South Bend police Department. Detectives Jacky and Koski of the Special Victims Unit interviewed Heather. After being advised of her Miranda warnings, Ms. Gipperich advised that approximately! 5 days earlier she and a male named Timmy went to a residence in St. Joseph County, Indiana to buy and use heroin, whictl she did. Ms. Gipperich stated that she took her nine-month-old ctlild, B. G. with her to that

residence. Ms. Gipperich stated that she became "high" from the herOin. While at the residence she allowed Amanda to take possession of 8. G.. Ms. Gipperich advised that she had first met Amanda;that night. Ms. Gipperich advised that since that night she had been in contact with Amanda on a daily basis, the last time being on February 15,
2014.

Amanda was located by the Elkhart Police Department at her residence in Elkhart, IN. B. G. was with her and was subsequently turned over to the custody of the Indiana Department of Child Services. Except as noted, all of the above events occurred in St. Joseph County, Indiana. I affirm under the penalty fo~ perjury that the foregoing representations are true.
