Job Description: The Operations/Sustaining Engineer will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive work in support of Harris CapRock's Maritime Cruise & Passenger services. This support will be primarily office based but will also require field work on an ad-hoc basis. The ideal candidate will have strong VSAT and Network engineering skills and experience although we can accept a compromise if candidates have specific strength in one area or the other. Responsibilities include: Planned service moves, changes, upgrades and downgrades Support and growth of existing and new business Deliver engineering design, configuration, testing and implementation of end-to-end solutions (with SDM) Ensure adherence to delivery schedules and technical specification, and that the specification is fit for purpose Hands-on Configuration of the HCC portfolio of products (Subject Matter Expert - SME) Commissioning support of VSAT/WAN connectivity Client support and consultancy Create and manage Technical Support information for delivered solutions Level-3 escalation support Configuration of monitoring Tools for client services Support operational groups (Tools, Support, Voice, Growth Engineering, Capacity, Teleport, Platform, Terrestrial) Terrestrial network, configuration and support Out of hours work can be required due to nature of business Part of an on-call rotation Travel and field work will be required

Qualifications: Bachelors Degree (or equivalent experience) in Engineering or related field 5 years of experience in the VSAT, networking, and voice fields Preferred Additional Skills: Strong technical background essential, including VSAT Antennas and technologies (such as iDirect, Advanced VSAT(ViperSat), SCPC) Comprehensive knowledge of Satellite theory, as well as Terrestrial Networking, general IP and voice Full Cisco background preferred, ideally with VOIP and MPLS experience. Cisco certification preferred Proven hands-on problem solver showing Initiative, dedication and ability to work as a Team player Possess a drive to succeed with a willingness to expand knowledge and experience Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both verbal and written are key for this role Must be able to prioritize, manage time, meet deadlines and work with minimal supervision Must be flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities Valid driving license and vehicle preferred Please note: if you elect to submit your CV/resume into our database for consideration for a non-US based position, it may be reviewed by Harris recruiters worldwide to determine if your credentials qualify you for an existing position that Harris, or one of its subsidiaries or affiliates, is seeking to fill.
