EMPLOYMENT HISTORY
I have recently started to work for Global Language Company as a freelance Bengali
interpreter and have provided linguist support to Bengali and sylhety speakers at
doctor surgeries, hospitals, health centres and court and other professional
official companies.
Saheliya is a Black and Minority Ethnic Women's Mental Health organisation, It was
my first opportunity of working in Edinburgh as private interpreter for Asian
women’s group interpreting Bengali to English and English to Bengali and sylhety,
the interpretation areas of expertise were learning new skills, learning to speak
English language, participating in physical activities and influence in
socialising in English language and discussing further issues and support.
USHERING 2007 – 2007
Ushers are the responsible for ensuring their allocated court room is tidy and
equipped with all the necessary forms, stationary etc , the are also the main
communication links between the Clarks, Magistrates , solicitors, the defendant
and other various external agencies like crown prosecution service and the
probation service , other duties held were
• Meet and greet the publics and list call cases in the court
• Ensuring the list is will prepared according to the importance and
attendance
• Assisting with paper works inside the court room for bail, probation
order ,remand, pre-sentenced report, summon papers, warrant to the admin or
security , serco prison services offices with care and interpreting when required
• Call on the defenders or any relatives or eye witnesses to the court room
• Giving information to the family members of the procedures or any other
information
• Keeping the court room tidy and clean
• Taking responsibility for the court room keys and alarm
• Carrey out all the duties while the court is running
• Swearing the oath to defenders and witnesses
• Face to Face interpreting and also translation of letters, and telephone
interpreting.

Interests
I enjoy spending time with my family organising outdoors activities. I also like
reading books and travelling and experiencing new places, I love swimming and
playing badminton and arranging outdoor activities for my son, along with
parenting duties I take pride in learning new recipes and experiment the outcome,
I am a well organised mother and love spending time with my son.
