The 12th Wharton India Economic Forum presents

optimistic and starry eyed founding fathers could have envisaged sixty-two years ago. Today,

Bellevue The 12th Annual Wharton India Economic Forum (WIEF) committee encourages you to dispel

through the eyes of some of the most prominent Indian leaders. This year’s conference will be
held on Saturday, the 22nd of March, 2008 at the Park Hyatt Hotel in Philadelphia. The
conference will feature former President of India, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, prominent venture
capitalist and the father of the Intel Pentium microprocessor, Mr. Vinod Dham and Arun Jaitley,
Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha and Former Union Minister as keynote speakers.

The theme of this year’s Conference is “India | Imagine”. This forum will serve as the platform
for Indian leaders to envisage the next phase of India’s journey to success while being mindful
of potential roadblocks. Previous WIEF conferences have featured prominent speakers such
as P.Chidambaram, Rajat Gupta, Rahul Bajaj, Anil Ambani, Henry Paulson, N.R Narayana
Murthy, Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, Shashi Tharoor, Sunil Mittal and Mukesh Ambani.

Over the last two years we have traced the Indian growth story exploring themes such as
“India’s mantra for success” and “Realizing the Indian Dream”. Today, we feel that India has
reached a pinnacle and we wish to aggressively asses all the different issues that India may
face on its continued journey towards becoming an economic powerhouse. From development
