III. Course Content A.

Building Group Cohesion Icebreakers -are structured activities that are designed to relax learners, introduce them to each other, and energize them in what is normally an unduly formal atmosphere or situation. The Interview Break the group into two-person teams (have them pick a partner that they know the least about). Have them interview each other for about twenty minutes (You can also prepare questions ahead of time or provide general guidelines for the interview). They need to learn about what each other likes about their job, past jobs, family life, hobbies, favorite sport, etc. After the interviews, reassemble the group and have each team introduce their team member to the group. This exercise helps them to learn about each other. Stand by your Quote- introduces the topic of leadership and encourages each participant to make a personal statement about his or her understanding of what makes a good leader. Stand by your Quote Place thoughtful quotes on the wallsleave plenty of room between the quotes and make certain the print large. It works best if the quote touch on different aspects of leadership; in short, have a variety of different quote. Ask the participants to leave their chairs and walk around the room reading each quote (there is no particular order). Then have them stand by one quote that resonates well with their personal views on what makes a good leader. When all participants have selected a quote(you can have more than one person by a quote),have each explain to the group why his or her chosen the quote is important to themshare a leadership insight. B. Introduction Self-awareness is the key to a happy life and to highly effective leadership. Leadership prowess requires self-mastery. You must first learn to master and lead yourself before you can lead others. The first step in this entire process is self-awareness. This unique leadership workshop engages your mind, body, and emotions in a way that makes it possible for you to experience yourself through others' eyes. While mainstream leadership development training offers a view of leadership in an objective manner (i.e., via readings, lectures, and movie clips), this leadership workshop is highly focused on the participant, such that you become the main star in the movie of your own life. This is to say that it is easier to learn through this experiential leadership workshop how to become the best you rather than how to emulate someone else who is being held up as a model. After all, it's only when you are being yourself that others find you authentic.

C. Institution Central Philippine University College of Nursing as an active learning institution teaches students to be agents and persons of hope and focus on practical skills for collecting,

handling, and presenting information or data to address their immediate problems and concerns in their community. The university organized self-awareness and leadership seminar for them to gain knowledge and skills to effectively serve their community or barangay. D. Psychological Process To understand the processes that enable individuals and group members to influence each other and develop shared norms and values and places leadership within this context. It has tended, since the emergence of the group dynamics tradition, to think of leadership in terms of relative influence within a group and the leader(s) as the person, role or subgroup which exerts more influence over the group than others. Like the director of a movie about the life, people can direct their mind, body, and emotions in such a way as to put different behaviors out there other than what they have been doing, thereby optimizing others' experience of who they are. Of even greater importance, it optimizes others' experience of themselves as a result of interacting with others. Aside from impacting their personal life, self-awareness and leadership development training will optimize the way they direct their mind, beliefs, emotions, body posturing and expressions which translates into greater credibility and self-esteem and productivity.
