*You will be assigned an academic detention and expected to stay after school (8th Hour) if you
are failing the course.
Classroom Rules

Be on time and prepared to learn.

Respect yourself, your teachers, each other, and property.
Dismissed when excused by the teacher.
All school and district policies will be followed (e.g. dress code).

Consequences
Upon breaking the rules, the following will occur:
1. First offense informal conference with teacher.
2. Second offense detention will be assigned.
3. Third offense detention and a phone call home.
4. Fourth offense referral to the Assistant Principal.
*Remember, depending on the severity of the offense, steps may be skipped.

GHS policy is that personal electronic seen or heard during class time is a disruption of the
educational process. If a personal electronic device is seen or heard by the teacher, disciplinary
actions will result.

Absences/Absent Work
It is school policy that all make-up work must be turned in by the fifth day after the student
returns to school. It is the students responsibility to obtain his or her make-up work. There
will be a weekly basket for students who are absent containing the materials covered for each
day of the week.
Citizenship
Students who go above and beyond in participation and have exceptional behavior will receive
an A. Student who do not participate regularly or who constantly break the rules will receive a
U. All others will receive an S.
Late Work

10% deduction for each day that it is late

(No late work will be accepted for Honors Chemistry)

Extra Help

Extra help is available before or after school

in room 280 every day.
