ABSTRACT

This document presents an explorative study of knowledge management in architectural practice from a socio-technical perspective. The objective of the study is to understand how knowledge is managed across teams geographically located; what challenges are facing knowledge management in this environment; the role of social relationships in knowledge management. The research findings suggest that the main problem facing architectural practice is the lack of centralized repository & team collaboration. Information is found in bits and pieces across SharePoint, internal Wiki & local copies of documents which restrict the availability of solutions at one place. This document discusses the participatory approach to the development & implementation of centralized system the Confluence.
