On Thursday, October 3rd, the Peer Awareness team had an Above the Inuence campaign in WMS during lunch. Above the Inuence is to challenge students to think more about their personal choices, said Mr. Justin, Wheelers ASACS counselor. The group of Peer Awareness held this campaign in order to help the students of Wheeler. This campaign is about being above stu that you know is wrong, said Shazlyn Casabar-Broyard. The Peer Awareness team raises awareness for alcohol, troubled teens, and drugs. The Peer Awareness kids develop events at school campus and the purpose of that is to encourage a drug-free and bully-free atmosphere, said Mr. Justin.

The goal of Peer Awareness is to teach kids that doing these things can be bad for your health. The goals are to educate the student population on how to make healthy choices and remain drug-free and bully-free, said Mr. Justin. Its important because kids, nowadays, want to t in really badly and will do anything to t in, said Shazlyn Casabar-Broyard. This event isnt the only one that the Peer Awareness team is doing. Look out for other campaigns that they do. We are nishing Red Ribbon Week, going to continue the Above the Inuence campaign, and host a winter art contest, said Mr. Justin.

A Spartan Chronicle guide to the spookiest day of the year

Night Marchers: Who walks the night?

The Hawaiian horror goes that warrior from Hawaiian tribes come back and walk the same paths that they did hundreds of years ago. Beware, though, for if you cross paths a merciless death will soon follow, and no remains will be found to be buried, or mourned over. Do not let fear overtake you though, for they give off very noticeable warnings of their marches some of the signs are: drums, Hawaiian chants, unusually bright torches, pus they come out almost always at night so their glowing bodies are easy to find signs of the near forgotten warriors. If you are lucky enough to see the signs you can lay face down to the ground to show respect, or if one of you direct ancestors are in the ranks of the march they will shout Mine and the rest of the marchers might just spare you. Common nights that they walk on are the nights of the gods Kane, Ku, Lono, Akua, the nights of Kaloa and on the night of the 27th faze of the moon. Some common locations on Oahu to avoid at night are: Nuuanu Pali Lookout, Kaaawa valley, Kalilhi Valley, Kamehameha Schools, and Kualoa Ranch. It is NOT recommended to go hunting for the Night Marchers for your safety is at risk.
