PAUL (2/18/14) We are excited to announce Spring Jam, the largest studentplanned three day music festival April 24-26, will have an adjusted schedule for 2014. The improved changes will allow the Student Unions & Activities Program Board to bring in bigger name artists to draw larger crowds throughout the festival; resulting in the biggest Spring Jam the University of Minnesota has hosted to-date. The first major change to this years schedule will be the Saturday headlining show. The evening show will take place in Mariucci Arena on Saturday, April 26. This will be a ticketed show. General seating and ticketing options on the floor will be available to students and the general public. Student Unions & Activities asked University of Minnesota students if they would be willing to pay for a Spring Jam headlining artists through paper surveys at events, online surveys after the Homecoming Concert, and feedback through social media. The response from students was overwhelmingly positive. Open ended questions indicated that students are willing to pay $5 to $50. In response to the changed location and price of the headlining concert, Student Unions & Activities has added an additional free concert to be held on Thursday, April 24 at 12pm on Coffman Front Plaza. The Spring Jam 2014 concert schedule will be as follows: *Times and locations are subject to change. Thursday, April 24 o Noon Concert (12pm, Coffman Front Plaza) o Evening Concert (7pm, Northstar Ballroom, St. Paul Student Center) Friday, April 25 o Noon Concert (12pm, Coffman Front Plaza) o Battle of the Bands (5pm, Coffman Front Plaza) o Evening Concert (9pm, Coffman Front Plaza) Saturday, April 26 o Headliner Concert (9pm, Mariucci Arena)

With the adjusted schedule, Student Unions & Activities feels confident that the majority of students will be satisfied with the wide variety of events and performances planned for the festival. The genres of artists include: pop, rap, alternative, hip-hop and country. The Spring Jam artists will be revealed on March 29 and headlining tickets will go on sale soon after.

Celebrating the warm weather and the end of the school year, Spring Jam is the largest student-planned, campus-wide three-day music festival event April 24-26 at the University of Minnesota. As part of the Student Unions & Activities Programming Board, Spring Jam is planned by a student committee that organizes the three-day music festival including live performances, competitions, and a variety of special events.
