Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time Lectionary: 73 First Reading: Isaiah 58:7-1

Thus says the LORD: Share your bread with the hungry, shelter the oppressed and the homeless; clothe the naked when you see them, and do not turn your back on your own. Then your light shall break orth like the dawn, and your wound shall !uickly be healed; your "indication shall go be ore you, and the glory o the LORD shall be your rear guard. Then you shall call, and the LORD will answer, you shall cry or help, and he will say: #ere $ am% $ you remo"e rom your midst oppression, alse accusation and malicious speech; i you bestow your bread on the hungry and satis y the a licted; then light shall rise or you in the darkness, and the gloom shall become or you like midday.

0esus said to his disciples: 23ou are the salt o the earth. 4ut i salt loses its taste, with what can it be seasoned5 $t is no longer good or anything but to be thrown out and trampled under oot. 3ou are the light o the world. * city set on a mountain cannot be hidden. 6or do they light a lamp and then put it under a bushel basket; it is set on a lampstand, where it gi"es light to all in the house. 0ust so, your light must shine be ore others, that they may see your good deeds and glori y your hea"enly /ather.7
