FORUM FOR AFRICAN WOMEN EDUCATIONISTS TANZANIA CHAPTER-FAWETZ

Founded in 1996 and officially registered in 1998, the Forum for African Women Educationalists of Tanzania (FAWETZ) is a non-profit making, NonGovernmental Organization (NGO) aimed at addressing gender imbalances in the education sector. It is one of the 33 National Chapters affiliated to the Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE), a network of leading African Female Educationalists and researchers who are strategically placed to stimulate broad policy reform and advocate for increased participation of girls in education in Africa. FAWETZ is looking for a qualified candidate to fill the following vacancies:

National Coordinator Executive Board

Duties and Responsibilities To maintain functional secretariat for the National Chapter To overcome and ensure the effective implementation of the overall FAWETanzania work programme To convene meetings of the Executive Committee and provide backup services for it to function effectively To mobilize resources for the chapter To account for funds given by FAWE and other donors To prepare work plans and quarterly narrative reports for the Executive Committee in the Chapter To co-ordinate, prepare and convene the General Assembly as stipulated in the Chapters Constitution To implement decisions of the Executive Committee To liaise closely with the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training (MOEVT), Prime Ministers Office -Regional Administration and Local Government (PMO RALG), as well as NGOs, donors and partners concerned with girls and womens education within the country To identify capacity building needs of the Executive Committee To ensure the Chapters representation in networking force at National , Regional and International levels To be liaison officer between the FAWE Regional Secretariat and FAWETanzania National Chapter and to oversee the implementation of programme emanating from this liaison. To perform any other duties relevant to the job as may be directed by the Executive Committee Essential Qualifications, knowledge and Experience Holder of B.A or BSc. in Education or Social Sciences or Gender or Development Studies or any recognized equivalent qualification, with five (5) years of experience in education. Experience in management will be an added advantage. Computer knowledge (word, excel, power point, internet, etc.) Strong Leadership and interpersonal skills coupled with the ability to develop team work and interact professionally with diverse groups of people. Excellent analytical and communication skills

Job Title: Administrative Secretary Reporting to: National Coordinator


Duties and Responsibilities All office duties e.g. typing, filing etc. To provide organizational support to the National Coordinator and programme Officers To coordinate and supervise the work of subordinate staff in the office To ensure the efficient management of the office/organization properties To carry out the accounting, arrange travel bookings and accommodations To organize, supervise and monitor the systematic cleaning of the office, computers, telephone and other equipment

To do any other duties as may be assigned by the National Coordinator Essential Qualifications, knowledge and Experience Holder of certificate in ordinary level secondary education. Knowledgeable and skilled in secretarial duties Computer knowledge Holder of certificate in secretarial course Experience of not less than five years in secretarial position

Job title: Accountant Reporting to: National Coordinator


Duties and Responsibilities To prepare cash books and ledger account books To prepare expenditure analysis To prepare petty cash book To prepare journal book for accounting of advances retirement To prepare bank reconciliation statement per month To prepare and keep assets register To pay salaries and advances to staff To write cheque and draw cash from bank To ensure that cash is paid according to its project To sign cheques as signatory panel B To prepare monthly, mid-year, semi-year and annual financial reports Essential Qualifications, knowledge and Experience Certificate in Advanced Level secondary education Holder of diploma in accountancy Five years experience in the accounting position. Knowledgeable and skilled in financial matters
