Top coating
Preferably covered with plastic bonded, water-based emulsion paints, facade paints or silicon resin paints. Very recommended are KEIM dispersion silicate paints (Biosil, Ecosil, Optil). Depending on their chemical composition, natural resin paints adhere relatively well. We do not recommend pure mineral paints! Due to the high adhesive tensile strenght of 2.8 N/mm (ETAG 004 recommends 0.25 N/mm), usable directly under pure organic plaster, no mineral pasters!

Grounding
Must be grounded! We recommend interior the grounding strap EB2 plus grounding set ESW or ESW+, exterior the fiber additive AF3 plus the grounding set ESA.
Frost resistance
Not frost resistant, however our packages never freeze on shipping due to 10 years experience!
Shielding attenuation
Attenuation of 38 dB (shielding effectiveness of 99.984 %) in one layer, attenuation of 45 dB (shielding effectiveness of 99.997 %) with two layers. The attenuation is regularly tested in our own laboratory due to the standard ASTM D4935-10. The current measuring report is available uppon request.
Ingredients
Water, pure acylic binder, graphite, carbon black, eco-surfactant, eco-defoamer, thickener, preservative (MIT, BIT).
Optional: Fiber additive AF3

This paint is formulated without conductive carbon fibers to be airless sprayable. To bypass cracks for a better grounding, it should be mixed with the fiber additive AF3.

Top coating
Can be covered with water-based, plastic bonded emulsion paints. Due to ecological reasons, KEIM dispersion silikate paints (Biosil, Ecosil, Optil) as well as AURO high-grade lime paint (no.344) and silicate paint (no.303) are highly recommended. Many natural resin paints and paints made of clay or lime putty are not recommended.

YSHIELD Shielding paints Fiber additive AF3

Characteristics
Special additive for mixing with our shielding paints HSF55, HSF54, NSF34. All our shielding paints are formulated without crack-bridging carbon fibers for airless spray application. In case of cracks forming in the substrate, this additive contains long, electrically conductive carbon fibers which guarantee the grounding even without using the grounding strap.
Frost resistance
Frost resistant (3 frost-/thaw cycles), shippable year-round.
Processing
Stir in the additive (90 ml) into 5 liter shielding paint. Use an electro mixer for at least for one minute, that all mixes homogeneously .

Dispersion glue DKL90

Characteristics
Special coordinated dispersion glue for binding our sheet materials to walls, ceilings, floors, doors, etc.. High quality class water-resistant special glue based on acrylics, breathable, lowemission and solvent-free. Electrically conductive, that the materials dont get isolated for grounding.

Processing
The application is identical to a wallpaper glue! Avoid bucklings and wrinkles in the materials! The wall surface and the backside of the material is primed with a painters roller. The material is inserted wet-on-wet and fixed by hand (with disposable gloves) or with a pressure roller. Work quickly and strip by strip so that the glue wont get dry.

YSHIELD Shielding paints Common characteristics

Simple handling and processing
YSHIELD shielding paints can be universally applied. Compared to wallpapers, fleeces or nettings they are easy to apply, even in structured rooms with bays, pitched roofs and dormers. Painters recommend our shielding paints for ease of application. All paints are best applied with a paint roller.
Perfect corrosion restistance

Many shielding products containing metals are not resistant to corrosion. Our shielding paints does not contain any metals, but a mixture of carbons. These are long-term durable and stable against corrosion even in humid enviroment.
Emissions VOC / PAH

Our shielding paints are tested regularly from the TV-SD on the content of VOC (volatile organic compounds) and PAH (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons). 1) The actual VOC limit is 30 g/l, our shielding paints contain only 0.0 g/l to 0.2 g/l. 2) The often recommended PAH limit (for category 1) is 0.2 mg/kg, our paints contain 0.002 mg/kg, so they are 100 times below the limit even for children toys.
Preservation
Any kind of aqueous paint must be preserved. Isothiazolinone-compounds are generally controversial. But only in terms of CIT, which is not used in our paints. Further to this we reject preservation with BIT/silver, like utilized in eco-paints, as we dont want to use nanosilver. Our preservation with MIT/ BIT has a very low allergy potential which is also confirmed by MCS-customers. As an alternative, our shielding paint HSF74, is absolutely free from any kind of preservatives.
Sustainability
Due to its paint-typical holohedral structure without holes, our shielding paints have a nearly linear attenuation up to very high frequencies, regardless of the direction of signal polarization. Prooved up to 4/18/30 GHz (depending on the test method) they are very future-proof.
Carefully selected ingredients

YSHIELD shielding paints do not contain solvents, plasticisers or any other toxic ingredients. All ingredients were carefully selected, regardless of price and according to their high quality and safety.
