Xenophobia- irrational fear of foreigners or strangers Repressed memory- a condition where a memory has been unconsciously blocked by an individual due to the high level of stress or trauma contained in that memory. Even though the individual cannot recall the memory, it may still be affecting them consciously.` Borderline personality disorder- (Edward Nygma/the riddler) an unstable, incomplete identity characterized by chaos in ones thoughts, moods, actions, and self-concepts Splitting- categorizing people in positive and negative extremes Paranoid schizophrenia- is a mental disorder characterized by a breakdown of thought processes and by a deficit of typical emotional responses. (Paranoid delusions) Tardive dyskinesia- a difficult-to-treat form of dyskinesia, a disorder resulting in involuntary, repetitive body movements. In this form of dyskinesia, the involuntary movements are tardive, meaning they have a slow or belated onset. This neurological disorder frequently appears after long-term or high-dose use of antipsychotic drugs, or in children and infants as a side effect from usage of drugs for gastrointestinal disorders. Amnesia- deficit in memory caused by brain damage, disease, or psychological trauma. Dissociation- everyday process in which different parts of the mind function at the same time without sharing information with each other Highway hypnosis(type of dissociation)- driving down the road and suddenly realize you dont remember the last five miles Dissociative disorder- conditions that involve disruptions or breakdowns of memory, awareness, identity or perception. People with dissociative disorders use dissociation, a defense mechanism, pathologically and involuntarily. Dissociative disorders are thought to primarily be caused by psychological trauma. Dissociative amnesia- memory disorder characterized by sudden retrograde autobiographical memory loss, said to occur for a period of time ranging from hours to years. More recently, "dissociative amnesia" has been defined as a dissociative disorder "characterized by retrospectively reported memory gaps. These gaps involve an inability to recall personal information, usually of a traumatic or stressful nature. Dissociative fugue- confusion about ones identity or even assumption of a new identity together with amnesia for some or all of the persons previous life Dissociative identity disorder(multiple personality disorder)- recurrent assumption of a particular alternate persona. (memory impaired, cant remember alternate persona) Delusion- a belief grossly out of touch with reality

Psychotic disorder- disorders in which the person is grossly out of touch with reality
