Khan, Khurshida. A Young Girl's Experience of the 1947 Partition of India and Pakistan. Online Interview. Brunswick High School, Web. 3 Jan. 13. <http://www.glynn.k12.ga.us/BHS/Juniorprojects/Durham01/sarahk22775/>. This is an interview made by a student with her grandmother, Khurshida Khan. Partition took place when she was only seven years old. Khan explains about her view of the Partition. It was an interesting interview because she illustrated the Hindus as threats to the Muslims when most other sites view the Muslims as threats to the Hindus and higher in power. I enjoyed learning about her actual view of the Partition because it helped me to understand what it was like for young children. Pruthi, Som C. "Personal Interview." Personal interview. 5 Dec. 2013. I had an interview with my grandfather, Som Pruthi, because he was a survivor of the Partition of India. He provided lots of primary source information since he had to go on the last train of survivors from his native homeland, which was going to be named Pakistan, to India. I learned a lot about his experienced and quoted him in my website under the Event page. He provided a lot of information on the actual

event and also the events leading up to partition, and after partition. He was a great primary source and helped me greatly to understand my topic. Trumbull, Robert. This is a newspaper article from the The New York Times archives which came out on August 15, 1947, the day of Partition. This article provided me information about the events happening the day of the Partition of India. It also provided a map of the area of India that was named Pakistan. However, I didnt gain any new knowledge from this article.

It also provided a map that helped me to visualize what India looked like before and after it divided, and some graphs that helped me to understand the different impacts on the religions after the partition. This website written by, The Telegraph, was mainly profitable for my notes. It gave information on the history of the conflict that the Indian sub-continent, Kashmir, had during Partition. Although this site was very informative, I did not acquire any information on this event into my website because this conflict did not have much of a relation with my topic. Butler, Chris. "The Flow of History." British Rule in India. N.p., n.d. Web. 13 Dec. 2013. This website written by Chris Butler helped me greatly with the historical context part of my topic. I used a great amount of my information gained from this website on my page about British India. It mainly helped me with understanding and gaining knowledge on why the British decided to give up their rule to India. It discussed information about when the British rule began, how the British disrupted India, and some information on WWII. Dover, Ben. "Partition Of India." Slideshare. N.p., 3 Dec. 2007. Web. 30 Oct. 2013. This slideshow presentation was created by Ben Dover on a site called, Slideshare. It provided a brief explanation on my topic overall, and states what happened leading up to partition, a timeline, a few facts about the partition itself, and the aftermath. It helped me understand my topic more. Not much of this information was used in the text for my website, however, I found much of the same information with broader text on other websites. This website written by Mike Dowling was a great source to gain clarification on The Partition of Bangladesh. I used the information that I gathered from this website onto my Long-term effects page. Gondal, Taimoor. "CSS PMS Guide." : Formation of All India Muslim League. N.p., n.d. Web. 15 Dec. 2013. This website, written by Taimoor Gondal, helped me understand how the AllIndia Muslim League was formed, who formed it, and all about the rules that the members of the League had to follow. It helped me to collect some specifics to write on my sub-page under Causes about the All-India Muslim League.

It helped me to understand what happened right before India split into two regions and the aftermath of the division. I used this site for background information on the historical context of my topic. I did not find this article very informative, and t didnt provide many specifics. "Indian Independence." This website was informative on briefly explaining the struggle for freedom that the Indians had gone through during the British rule, and the impact and aftermath of the Partition. This site helped me a little bit on the historical context

section of my website, and also on giving me an understanding and foundation to search in more depth about the aftermath of the event. Lahiri, Jhumpa. "Interpreter of Maladies Summary and Analysis." Interpreter of Maladies Study Guide : The Partition of India, 1947. Web. 03 Nov. 2013. This is a website article from a book called, Interpreter of Maladies, written by Jhumpa Lahiri. It helped me when I first started researching my topic. It gave me a brief understanding of when the Partition occurred and tensions the Muslims and Hindus had between one another. This site was not extremely informative because it was too brief and didnt provide any new information relating to my topic.

This website written by Vinay Lal, provided general information about events and organizations, and an overall view of India on the road to portioning. It did not acquire a great amount of information for me. I used this site mostly for note taking and gaining a view of what my topic was about. This site mainly gave fundamental dates and names but did not provide further depth. I found this site not extremely useful, but I found further details in other sites. Keen, Shirin. "Partition of India." Postcolonial Studies Emory. N.p., Spring 1998. Web. 25 Sept. 2013. This website was written by Shirin Keen. It gives outstanding, overall information about the Partition itself, the reasons and causes of the partition, the aftermath,

and the timeline of events before, during, and after the partition. This source had a major impact on my understanding of why and how India partitioned, and it helped me greatly on writing my Causes section about the British, the Indian National Congress, and the All-India Muslim League. This source helped me greatly with specifics and the foundation of the causes of the Partition of India. "The Road to Partition 1939-47." The National Archives. N.p., n.d. Web. 12 Oct. 2013. This summary on the National Archives website of great Britain, provided many different views of the partition, a brief explanation of the historical background, and some great newspaper articles and maps as well. It helped me in multiple ways such as providing newspaper articles to add into my website, and views of many people involved in the event. This site also included some speeches from historical features and gave me information and an understanding on the people and what they believed in. Smitha, Frank E. divided-india.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0>. This article on the New York Times website is about an oral history project, 1947 Partition project. It has useful interview videos that helped me understand what

some people went through during this event. This site also provided some background information. Some of the people who were interviewed explained the hard decisions they had to make. It gave great explanations on events leading up to partition, the causes of the partition and also people involved in the event. It gave me an overall view on what my topic is about. It provided specifics like dates and also helped me to make sure that I had the right information on this website as well as other websites.
