NEW WEAPONS

HEAT LANCE
The Heat Lance is able to destroy the superstructure of a target, warping the metalwork and literally using the mass of a target against itself. Due to the unique way this weapon works, its power scales with the size of the model being targeted. When working out this weapons initial Attack Dice (AD) value, it is equal to double (2x) the initial Damage Rating (DR) value of the targeted model. All modifiers to this weapons Attack Dice (AD) value are applied AFTER the Attack Dice have been worked out. This weapon can use the Combined Fire Firing Option with other Heat Lances and Heat Lancettes from the same Squadron. A compact variant of the more powerful Heat Lance, that can be mounted on vessels of a smaller size, with less displacement. When working out this weapons initial Attack Dice (AD) value, it is equal to (1x) the initial Damage Rating (DR) value of the targeted model. All modifiers to this weapons Attack Dice (AD) value are applied AFTER the Attack Dice have been worked out. This weapon can use the Combined Fire Firing Option with other Heat Lances and Heat Lancettes from the same Squadron.

NEW GENERATOR
CLOUD GENERATOR (Defensive)
Famous French physicist, and meteorological enthusiast,Gaston Brocard is responsible for the design of one of the most unique Generators available to the Republique of France armed forces. The Cloud Generator allows a vessel to become hidden within the environment, by surrounding it with a swirling vortex of local detritus. The net result is that opposing weapon systems are unable to cleanly target the now obscured vessel. The history of the Generator dates back to the arrival of the Russian renegade Markov into the French port of Marseilles in 1866, Brocard was one of the first scientists to meet the Covenanter, and was able to discuss his research. By luck, one of the scientific secrets Markov had stolen was the plans for a Cyclonic Thrust Engine. Not even Markov was fully aware of the potential of the device, believing it to be a design for allowing vehicles to accelerate directly upwards into the air. Despite his best efforts to thrust a vehicle into the sky, Brocard failed repeatedly, but during such an attempt he noticed the vehicle became obscured, and changed his development. Within a month the Cloud Generator was created and, once approved by the military, deployed upon a number of vessels. The Cloud Generator can be activated at ANY point during a models Activation. When activated the model using the Generator is only hit on a 5 or 6 until the End Phase of the current Turn.

HEAT LANCETTE

NEW MODEL ASSIGNED RULES


This vessel is supported by a Wing of fighter planes whose pilots report directly to the ships captain. This model has a designated complement of Tiny Flyer Fighter Planes equal to the listed value. These Fighter Planes MUST be used as a Combat Air Patrol for this model when they Launch. Only its own Tiny Flyer Fighter Planes can Launch from, or Land on, this model. This model can still only have one Combat Air Patrol attached. The gunners on this vessel are some of the best in the fleet, extensively trained to avoid their own launching and landing aeroplanes with stray shots. If this model performs a Launch action during its Activation, it can still use any Generator or fire any weapon in that Activation.

CLOSE AIR SUPPORT (value)

This model is able to use its Gravity Nullification Unit to leave the ground and skim a short distance above the surface of the terrain beneath it, making it adept over land or sea. This model is a Surface Naval model. It ignores Treacherous Terrain and CAN move over Land and Water. This models Base represents the model for the purposes of Movement, Turning, Line of Sight, Range and Arcs of Fire, as appropriate This model can move over models and Terrain that are one Size or more smaller than its defined Size Class, but cannot end its Activation on top of another model. This model can move over Mines without detonating them, but if it ends its Movement (Mv) within 1 of the centre of a Mine Marker it will explode as normal. This model counts as being one Size Class larger than its defined Size Class for the purpose of determining Line of Sight only. When a model is determining Line of Sight to this model, a model on the Surface is NOT an Obstructing Model if it is one Size Class smaller than the Firing or Spotting model. This model is only hit on a 5 or 6 by Torpedo Ordnance, but any hits by Torpedo Ordnance ignore the Retardant Armour MAR, if this model has it.

SURFACE SKIMMER

COMBAT LAUNCH

This vessel has additional armour plates that are tightly interlocked to its hull, creating an additional protective shell that must be penetrated by opposing fire. The first 6 rolled against this model during any Attack or Counterattack, is counted as a 6.

PROTOTYPE MAGENTA BATTLESHIP

A lot of shipyards dotted around France still contain older, prototype versions of the Magenta Class Pocket Battleship, some more successful in action than others. Despite the improvements made in the final build of the Magenta, many captains have a sentimental attachment to their old charges, and insist on taking them to battle at any given opportunity. The limited release version of the Magenta Class Battleship, and its accompanying Stat Card, can still be fielded in a Fleet.
