INTRODUCCION
El termostato ambiente objeto de este manual se
alimenta elctricamente a 24 voltios, y dispone de
los elementos necesarios para controlar el funcio-
namiento de la unidad.
La manipulacin de todos los elementos debe reali-
zarse con sumo cuidado, observando en todo mo-
mento las precauciones indicadas en cada caso. La
instalacin del termostato debe ser llevada a cabo
por un tcnico cualificado y con experiencia.
INSTALACION
NOTA IMPORTANTE: Durante todo el proceso
el termostato NO debe tener alimentacin elc-
trica en evitacin de descargas elctricas y/o
daos a la unidad.
DESMONTAJE
Una vez extraido el termostato de la caja de emba-
laje, proceder a desmontarlo de la siguiente forma.
(Ver Fig. 1 ).
1.- Quitar la tapa del termostato, tirando hacia arri-
'ba del borde inferior de la misma, hasta que sal-
ga de su alojamiento.
2.- Retirar con cuidado y desechar tanto el cartn
que sirve para inmovilizar durante el transporte
los interruptores de mercurio, como el relleno
de espuma que los protege y la tira de papel que
inmoviliza el termmetro .
. 3.- Separar el termostato de la sub-base soltando
los tres tornilios indicados en la Fig. 2 -
INTRODUCTION
The room thermostat referred to in this manual
should be electrically suppled at 24 V. lt includes al/
the elements required for unit control and operation.
Al/ the elements mentioned throughout this manual
should be handled with extreme care, always kee-
ping in mind the precautions indicated. The ther-
mostat should be installed by a qualified and expe-
rienced technician.
INSTALLA TION
IMPORTANT NOTE: The electricity supply should
be disconnected throughout this process, in or-
der to prevent shock hazards andlor unit dama-
ge.
DISMANTLING
Once having unpacked the thermostat, proceed to
dismantle itas follows (see Figure 1 ):
1.- Remove the thermostat cover, by pullng the lo-
wer edge upwards, until it snaps free.
2.- Carefully removeand discard both the piece of
cardboard which inmobilises the mercury swit-
ches during transport and the foam rubber fillng
which protects them, as we/1 as the strip of pa-
per which inmobilses the thermometer.
3.- Separate the thermostat from the subbase by
removing the three screws indicated in Figure 2.

UBICACION
Situar el termostato sobre una pared interior, ya
que la temperatura de las paredes exteriores vara
segn las condiciones meteorolgicas.
1.- Colocarlo a una distancia mnima de:Q,50 m. de
cualquier unin con una pared exteriOr.
2.- Situarlo aproximadamente a 1.50 m. sobre el ni-
vel del suelo. No debe obstaculizarse la libre cir-
culacin del aire ambiente alrededor del ter-
mt>stato.
3.- Cuando se haya seleccionado la mejor ubica-
cin posible para el montaje del termostato,
comprobar que no exista ninguno de los si-
guientes inconvenientes:
a) El termostato no debe situarse cerca de ten-
didos de tubera de agua caliente o vapor.
b) Asegurarse de que no hay ninguna habita-
cin fra o no habitada al otro lado del tabi-
que.
e) Asegurarse de que no hay ningn horno o co-
cina, situados al otro lado del tabique.
d) El termostato no debe estar expuesto al calor
radiante de una chimenea, ni al calor directo
del sol, a travs de una ventana.
e) El termostato no debe estar expuesto a co-
rrientes de aire, procedentes de una escalera
o puerta exterior.
f) El termostato no debe estar afectado por co-
. rrientes de aire procedentes de rejill as, difu-
sores, etc.
g) No debe verse afectado por el calor de lm-
paras, televisin, etc.
MONTAJE DE LA SUB-BASE
El termostato est previ sto para su montaje salien-
te en pared y no precisa de cajas adicionales. Por
facilidad y seguridad en el conexionado, pudiera
ser aconsejable en algunos casos la colocacin de
una caja de distribucin empotrada, como se Indica
en la Fig. 1. Es preciso comprobar previamente que
los taladros de sujecin de la sub-base se corres-
ponden con los de la caja empleada.
Para el montaje de la sub-base proceder como si-
gue:
1.- Preparar un alojamiento para el cableado del
termostato en el lugar elegido.

The thermostat should be mounted on an inside
wa/1, since the temperature of outside walls vares
according to prevailing weather conditions.
1.- Place ata mnimum distance of 0,5 m from any
junction with an outside wa/1.
2.- Situate approximately 1,5 m above floor leve/.
The room air should circulate free/y around the
thermostat.
3.- Once having se/ected the best possible location
for mounting the thermostat, ensure that none
of the fo/lowing drawbacks exist:
a) The thermostat should not be mounted near
of hot water or steam pjJes._.__
b) Ensure that the room on the other side of the
wa/1 is not too cold or unoccupied.
e) Ensure that there is no oven or cooker on the
other si de of the wa/1.
d) The thermostat should not be exposed to
heat radiated from a fireplace, nor to direct
heat from the sun through a window.
e) The thermostat should not be exposed to
draughts from a stairway or outside door.
f) The thermostat should not be affected by
draughts from grilles, diffusers, etc ..
g) lt should not be affected by heat from lamps,
television sets, etc.
SUBBASE MOUNTJNG
The thermostat is intended for wa/1 mounting, and
requires no additional boxes. In order to make con-
nection safer and more straightforward, in sorne ca-
ses it may be advisable to insta// a flush fitted distri-
bution box, as shown in Figure 1. lt should be chec-
ked beforehand that the fixture holes in the subbase
correspond with those in the box being used.
To mount the subbase, proceed as follows:
1.- Prepare a hollow for the thermostat wiring, at
the desired location.
2.- Check the unit wiring diagrams and the required
optionals, in order to determine the number of
wires needed.
3 . .;_ Run the low voltage thermostat wires from the
unit to the thermostat location, and allow a

3.- Llevar los cables de baja tensin del termostato
desde la unidad hasta el lugar elegido para la
ubicacin del termostato, haciendo que sobre-
salgan una longitud de unos 1 O cm. del aloja-
miento de la pared, a continuacin pasarlos a
travs de la abertura existente a tal efecto en la
sub-base (Fig.3).
4.- Sujetar la sub-base a la pared o a la caja empo-
trada, utilizando las dos ranuras mostradas en
laFig. 3.
5.- Nivelar la sub-base, utilizando un nivel de bur-
buja. Para ello, se pueden efectuar ligeros ajus-
tes por medio de las ranuras de montaje inclui-
das en la sub-base.
NOTA IMPORTANTE
Una sub-base sin nivelar puede dar lugar a
un anormal control de la temperatura. Ase-
gurarse de que la sub-base est perfecta-
mente nivelada.

4.- Secure the subbaseto the wa/1 orto the flush fit-
ted box, by means of the two slots shown in Fi-
gure3.
5.- Leve/ the subbase using a spirit leve/. Slight ad-
justments m ay be m a de by means of the moun-
ting slots incorporated in the subbase.
IMPORTANT NOTE
An incorrectly levelled subbase may cause
abnormal temperature control. Ensure that
the subbase is pe.rfectly leve/

1.- Todo el cableado debe cumplir las normas y re-
glamentos locales.
2.- Conectar los cables a los terminales de ra sub-
base, segn el esquema de la unidad. Acudir al
diagrama elctrico de la unidad para los deta-
lles de las conexiones a la misma.
3.- Cada terminal est marcado con una letra de
cdigo, para una identificacin rpida (Fig. 4).

WIRING
1.- Al/ wiring should comply with local standards
and regulations.
2.- Connect the wires to the subbase terminals in
accordance with the wiring diagram. Consult
the unit wiring diagram for details of connection
to the same.
3.- Each terminal is marked with acode letter forra-
pid identification (Figure 4).

4.- Introducir el cable sobrante dentro del aloja-
miento en la pared y tapar con masilla o material
sellante, para que las corrientes de aire no afec-
ten al termostato.
NOTA: Es recomendable usar cables de dis-
tintos colores para facilitar el cableado.
MONTAJE DEL TERMOSTATO
1.- Montar el termostato sobre la sub-base y apre-
tar los 3 tornillos mostrados en la Fig. 2.
ATENCION: Estos tornillos son continuado-
res de circuito por lo que deben quedar colo-
cados los tres, y suficientemente apretados.
2.- Colocar la tapa a presin, sobre las cuatro pati-
llas de plstico situadas una en cada esquina
del termostato.
REGULACION Y AJUSTE
No hace falta realizar ningn ajuste, dado que los
anticipadores de calor y fro son fijos y no es nece-
sario realizar ninguna modificacin al utilizar distin-
tos tipos de sistemas de control, siempre que su
consumo no sea superior a 1 ,5 Amperios.
Situar los selectores de temperatura en la posicin
deseada. Los sensores tardarn aproximadamente
una hora en estabilizarse a partir del momento en
que la temperatura de la habitacin alcanza la se-
leccionada en el termostato.
CALI BRACION DEL TERMOMETRO
El termmetro viene perfectamente ajustado de ori .:-
gen y no suele precisar manipulacin alguna, sin
embargo, si en algn momento se comprueba que
est descalibrado, se puede recalibrar fci lmente
sin necesidad de quitar el cristal de la cubierta. Para
recalibrar el termmetro, proceder de la siguiente
manera:
1.- Retirar la tapa del termostato.
2.- Colocar la tapa .en una mesa, cerca de un ter-
mmetro de alta precisin.
3.- Despus de pasar 5 1 O minutos para que se
estabilice, comparar lecturas. Si so disti ntas
necesita una recali bracin.

NOTE: It is advisable to use different colou-
red wires in order to faci/itate wiring.
THERMOSTATASSEMBLY
1.- Mount the thermostat on the subbase, and tigh-
ten the 3 screws shown in Figure 2.
WARNING: These screws are circuit conti-
nuers, and al/ three should therefore be fit-
ted and properly tightened.
2.- Press the cover on, over the plastic clips situa-
ted at each comer of the thermostat.
REGULA TION AND ADJUSTMENT
No adjustment is required, since the heating and
cooling anticipators are fixed, and no modification is
needed when using different types of control sys-
tem, providing that the consumption of the latter
does not exceed 1,5 Amps.
Position the temperature se/ectors as desired The
sensors wi/1 take approximately 1 hour to stabilize
from the time that the room temperature reaches
that set on the thermostat.
THERMOMETER CALIBRA TJON
T_he thermometer has been perfectly adjusted when
manufactured, and does not general/y require ma-
nipulation. However, if at any moment is it found to
be unca/ibrated, it may easily be re-calibrated wit-
hout removing the glass cover. In arder to recalibra-
te the thermometer, proceed as follows:
1.- Take off the thermostat cover.
2.- Place the cover on a table near a high precision
thermometer.
3.- Wait for 5 or 10 minutes for it tn ;nd

ver in the thermometer shaft. Turn it until both
thermometers indicate the same reading.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICA TIONS

- Maximum tolerance between indicated tempera-
ture and actual temperature: 1C.

and disconnection of a stage: 1,4C

DESCRIPTION OF THE THERMOSTAT
The unit is operated by means of the thermostat
controls. The various elements are described below
(see Fig. 5):
- Se ecto e sis ema: Interruptor d.e tres posicio-
es- que permite elegir el funcionamiento de la
unidad: OFF (PARADO)-COOL (FRIO)-HEAT
(CALOR).
-Selector de ventilador: Interruptor de dos posicio-
nes que controla el funcionamiento del ventilador
de la unidad interior. AUTO (AUTOMATICO)-ON
(FUNCIONAMIENTO CONTINUO).
- Selector auxiliar: Interruptor de dos posiciones.
Situado en NORM la unidad funciona en el ciclo
elegido en el Selector de Sistema. Colocado en
EMERG desconecta el/los compresor/es y permi-
te la entrada de la calefaccin de emergencia (op-
cional ) como primera etapa de calor.
-Lmpara azul (CALEFACCION APOYO): Se en-
ciende cuando entra en funcionami ento la cale-
faccin de apoyo (opcional).
-Lmpara roja (CALEFACCION EMERGENCIA):
Se enciende al situar el Selector Auxiliar en lapo-
sicin EMERG, independientemente de que se
conecte o no la calefaccin de emergencia (op-
cional) .
- Piloto sealizador disparo protecciones: Se en-
ciende cuando dispara alguna proteccin de la
unidad apagndose cuando ra aver a se ha re-
suelto.
-Selector de temperatura: Permite fijar la tempera-
tura deseada en el recinto a acondicionar. Dispo-
ne de escala graduada en oc y F.
- Termmetro ambiente: Indica en todo momento
- System switch: A three position switch for selec-
ting the unitoperating mode: OFF-COOL-HEA T.
- Fan switch: A two position switch which controls
the indoor unit tan operation: AUTO (AUTOMA-
TIC)- ON (CONTINUAL OPERA TION).
- Auxiliary switch: A two position switch. When in
the NORM position, the unit opera tes in the mode
selected by the System Switch. When in the
emergency position, the compressor( s) isla re dis-
connected, and the emergency heater (option)
cuts in as the first heating stage.
- 8/ue lamp (AUXIL/ARY HEA TER) : This light co-
mes on when the auxiliary heater (option) cuts in.
1 - Red lamp (EMERGENCY HEATER): This light
comes on when the Auxiliary Switch is in the
EMERG. position, regard/ess of whether the
emergency heater (option) is connected or not.

- Protector trip up pilot light: This light comes on
). when a unit protector trips. lt goes out once the

ON OFF/NORM
El termostato da salida continuamente por " G" (Rel ventilador interior) .
Estn conectadas continuamente las salidas "G" (Rel ventilador interior) y "O" (Rel vlvula reversible) .
ON COOL/NORM
Si el termostato lo demanda puede conectarse "Y1" (Rel fro 1 a etapa) y posteriormente "Y2" (Rel
fro 2a etapa).
AUTO COOL/NORM
Todo igual que en el apartado anterior, excepto que la conexin y desconexin del terminal "G" (Rel
ventilador interior) est supeditada a la conexin y desconexin de "Y1" (Rel fro 1 a etapa) .
El terminal "G" (Rel ventilador interior) queda conectado continuamente. Si el termostato lo demn-

da "W1 " (Rel calor 1 a etapa) se conecta y si el termostato sigue pidiendo calor se conecta posterior-
mente "W2" (Rel calor 2a etapa), encendindose la lmpara azul (calefaccin apoyo).
Todo igual que en el apartado anterior, excepto que el terminal "G" (Rel ventilador interior) queda

desconectado. La conexin del venti lador interior se realiza a travs del esquema elctrico de la pro-
pia unidad.
El terminal "G" (Rel ventilador interior) queda conectado continuamente. La lmpara roja (calefac-
cin emergencia) se mantiene encendida constantemente. Se desconecta el terminal "W1" (Rel

calor 1 a etapa).
Si el termostato demanda calor la primera etapa de Calor conecta " E" (Rel calefaccin emergencia) .
Si el termostato requiere ms calor se conecta a continuacin "W2" (Rel calor 2a etapa) , encendien-
dose la lmpara azul (calefaccin apoyo).
Todo igual que en el apartado anterior, excepto que el terminal "G" (Rel ventilador interior) queda des-

Terminal " W1 " (1st stage heating re/ay) is disconnected.
lf the thermostat requires heating, the tirst heating stage connects "E" (emergency heating re/ay).
lf the thermostat requires even more heating, "W2" (2nd stage heating re/ay) is subsequently connec-
ted, and the blue light comes on (support heat).
AUTO HEAT/EMERG
The same as in the previous section, except that terminal "G" (indoor tan re/ay) remains disconnected.
The indoor tan is connected by means ot the wiring diagram ot the unit it se/f.
