Materials used in the example: Simply Soft light worsted weight yarn, color 9605 Mango with a U.S.

size G hook. The finished size is about 5 inches in diameter, when made with these materials. To start: Ch 6, join with a sl st to form a ring. Rnd 1: ch 3 (counts as first dc), 19 dc in ring, join with sl st in top of first ch-3. (20 dc total for this round) Rnd 2: ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc in next dc, * ch 2, dc in ea of next 2 dc **, repeat the directions between * and ** around, then ch 2, sl st in top of first ch-3 of this rnd. The 1893 pattern had 1 chain between the dc groups but I found that it worked out nicer with 2 chains between. In the era that this pattern was first written, crocheters often made looser stitches (instead of increasing the number of stitches) to keep circular pieces from curling. Today we prefer to use increases. Rnd 3: sl st in next dc (to reach starting point for this rnd), sl st in ch-2 sp, ch 3 (counts as first dc), (dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in same ch-2 sp, * skip next 2 dc, (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in next ch-2 sp **, repeat the directions between * and ** around, then sl st in top of first ch-3 of this rnd. Rnd 4: sl st in next dc (to reach starting point for this rnd), sl st in ch-2 sp, ch 3 (counts as first dc), (6 dc, sc) in same ch-2 sp, * (7 dc, sc) in next ch-2 sp **, repeat the directions between * and ** around, then sl st in top of first ch-3 of this rnd. 1893 pattern used 10 dc. End off.

ROUND

FOWER

Crochet 6 solve, connect with a slip ring to get (or beginning, as in the picture, with a magic ring.) First round: crochet 4 solve (counts as 1 stick and 1 single). * Work 1 stick, 1 loose. Repeat from * 10 more times, so you have twelve sticks. Connect with half fixed.

Second round: Crochet 5 solve (counts as 1 stick and 2 unloading). * Work 1 stick, 2 solve.Repeat from * 10 more times. Connect with half fixed, fasten off and cut the yarn. Work the remaining short threads.

Take another color. Third round: Crochet 3 ch (counts as 1 stick) and 3 sticks in the first arc. Crochet 4 sticks in each arc until you're around. Connect with half fixed, fasten off and cut the yarn. Work the remaining short threads.

Take another color. Fourth row: attaches to between the 1st and 2nd stick of the group of 4 sticks (possibly enlarged. the picture to see what I mean). * Work 5 solve and connect with sl between the 3rd and 4th stick of the group of 4 sticks. So you have your first petal-made bow. Insert your hook in between 1st and 2nd stick of the next group of 4 sticks and make a slip. Repeat from * until all loops have hooked petal. The last half hard to make jam at the first arc!

Fifth round: You should have a slip of the previous row in the first arc. Crochet therefore 2 solve (counts as 1 stick) + 7 sticks. That is the first petal. Crochet a slip between the groups of four sticks (ie in light gray third row insertion). * Crochet 8 sticks to the second petal-bow.Crochet a half fasting between the groups of four sticks. Repeat from * until you're all the way around. Fasten off and work the last thread away. That's all.

This is the end result.

MORE ROUND FLOWERS

Cast ch 6, take a ring.

1. Round: 4 ch (= 1 tr + 1 ch) * 1 dc, ch 1 * repeat between ** until you have 12 st round ring. 2. turn: (between dc on previous row) 5 ch (= 1 tr + 2 ch) * 1 dc, ch 2 * repeat between **.

3. game: Change the Color, 4 dc in each ch loop. Altogether 48 st.

4. game: Change color, starting between leading and second rod in a rod group, * ch 5, skip 2 dc, dc, skip 2 dc, sc * repeat between ** round.

5. game: * 8 dc in each ch loop, sc between the two sc * repeat between ** round.

Crochet "Japanese flower": You crochet flowers together on the last row. 4 tr in loop, 1 sc between 4 and 5 dc in the flower to crochet with. 4 tr around the loop again. Repeat the same on the next loop, so that it hangs together in two loops.

In the same way you crochet all the flowers together.

Grandma center pane consists of three rounds. The first two crochet to normal. On the third row you crochet granny route in between the flowers. Corners in Granny square crochet you stuck in exactly the same point as the flowers are crocheted together with a dc. Work fast with a dc of dc-group between the corners well. Continue working the route fixed in this manner until you have locked in all the corners.

Then it's just crochet scarf as far as you want. Mitt scarf consists of 28 flowers (2x14) and is 150 cm
