Room 204 Update March 2, 2014 Spring Street School Mrs.

Liportos class

General Information Our class once again won the privilege to host Hoot the Owl in our classroom for the next month because we brought in the most Box Tops! Our class collected another 356 Box Tops between the middle of January and the end of February! Way to go! The kids have decided they are on a hot streak and want to continue for the month of March, so they will be hunting down those Box Tops wherever they may be. Apparently Stop and Shop prints our certificates on their receipts worth 25 Box Tops each, so dont be surprised if some kids try to persuade you to change grocery stores. ! This week is crazy in terms of our schedule. Monday is the Invention Convention, Tuesday is an early release day, Wednesday is our Mock ELA MCAS, Thursday is Community Reading Day and Friday is a presentation from the Acton Discovery Museum on electromagnets. Please bare with us as we navigate these busy days. The Lowell National Historical Park (Lowell Mills) field study will be on Wednesday, March 19th. Thank you to the MANY people who volunteered to

chaperone. I put all of your names into a cup and picked three in front of the students. The families chaperoning will be the Vroman, Wisbey and Mendilian families. Thanks again, for all of your support! This is a reminder that the SSS Fun Fair is going to be on Sunday, March 23rd from 12:00-4:00. We have not received many donations towards our class basket raffle fun. This year our class theme for the Basket Raffle is XBOX. Suggested donatations for this basket are Target gift cards or cash towards the purchase of an XBOX and accessories. We will be collecting donations until March 11th. same day because there is not enough room at school to keep them all. We hope to see you there!
