Applications are assessed as they are received. Applications should be lodged by the closing date. Applications received after this date will be considered only if vacancies exist in the program. Course entry requirements/ prerequisites A bachelor degree, or equivalent in physiotherapy from a recognised tertiary institution and a strong academic record together with a minimum of one year of relevant clinical experience at a postgraduate level. It is essential that all students that partake in a professional Masters program are registered with the Physiotherapists Registration Board of Western Australia. Applicants who enroll into a professional Masters program, who do not hold a current registration with the Physiotherapists Registration Board are required to obtain temporary registration. Application for temporary registration is made in person by providing the Physiotherapists Registration Board of WA with certified copies of physiotherapy qualifications, as well as an original Letter of Good Standing (or a Statutory Declaration), dated within six months of the date of making application for temporary registration. For further information please view: http://www.prbwa.com.au Application for temporary registration can be complete in Perth prior to the start of the course. Temporary Registration and thus participation in the Professional Masters program will not be possible without this documentation. Application Checklist Postgraduate study programs at Curtin University are highly regarded and competition for places in programs is often intense. Persons applying for acceptance into Professional Masters programs are evaluated and ranked based on merit by a Selection Committee. Please complete all sections of the relevant Application for Admission form and attach all requested documentation below:

Domestic students (Australian permanent residents and Citizens) only Please submit the application and this supplementary information document as one document to the Health Sciences Student Services Office. Failure to do so will cause delay in the assessment of your application! Please note that all supporting documentation supplied will need to be ORIGINAL certified copies. The certification needs to be completed by a person authorized to do so by the Curtin University Admission Centre. For more information on who is eligible to certify supporting documentation and how this is to be done please see the certification guidelines in this document. If submitting your application in person please note that the Health Sciences Student Services office does not photocopy documents. We can certify documentation for University Admission. If you want to use this service, please ensure you photocopy all documentation you wish to have certified and provide the original to be sighted. University Admission Centre Certification Guidelines The following guidelines are applicable to the certification of any documents being submitted to the University for use in Applications for Admission or Applications for Credit Transfer. Authorised officer outside Curtin University When certifying a document the authorised officer must personally photocopy the document and verify it by completing the following, using either a stamp or handwriting: Certified True Copy or similar Signing this statement Including the following details: Name Contact telephone number Profession or occupation Organisation Date verified Including the official stamp or seal of the verifiers organisation on the copy, if the organisation has such a stamp If the certifying officer is presented with the original document and a photocopy they must carefully check the copy against the original and if satisfied it is a true copy must certify it as above. Exceptions to the certification guidelines (For Curtin University staff) The certification standards outlined above can be waived in the following situations: If the original document or original certified copy is located at the University a copy of the document will be accepted on the condition the location of the original or certified document is noted on the copy with the full name and signature of the Curtin Staff member underneath. If the original document or certified copy is faxed or scanned by an approved international agent or partner institution, Curtin University will accept the documents. The decision to accept these documents was made by Curtin International for the purpose of offering a student a place at Curtin University. Electronic records from verified student record systems, for example Tertiary Institutions Service Centre Automated Results Transfer System, Curtin College or Open Universities Australia, can be accepted as supporting evidence of a students previous study. However if the records are being submitted with applications to Curtin University they must be certified by the originating Curtin Officer to verify that they have not been altered since being printed from the applicable record system. Authorised Curtin University staff members can verify records from Curtins Student One System therefore, certified copies are not required.

Requirements of scanned documents: Documents must be scanned from the original documents. Scans from a photocopy or a faxed copy are not acceptable Documents must be scanned in colour Applicants must ensure no portion of the document is missing (look out for page numbers) Documents must be scanned at the original size. If the document is larger than A4 then the document should be scanned in A4 sized portions without size reduction If the document has markings or text on both sides e.g. a registration number then both sides must be scanned Documents must be scanned in the following format: .pdf .doc .xlsx .rpt .rtf .docx .tif .bmp .txt .xls .jpg Scanned documents must be between 125 and 150 dots per inch File size of any single document should not exceed 3MB

Curriculum Vitae Professional Masters programs consist of 300 credits; however students may apply for Credit for Recognized Learning of up to 100 credits. It is therefore important that applicants complete comprehensive Curriculum Vitae using the following subheadings where applicable. CLINICAL EXPERIENCE (detail must be comprehensive) Comprehensively detail all relevant clinical experience Include duties, level of appointment, supervision of students, and the average number of hours practiced, type of musculoskeletal patients, caseload treated per week. ADDITIONAL CLINICAL EXPERIENCE Special clinics, sports teams, travelling with sports teams, sports coverage, other relevant experience PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIP Memberships held, name of organisations and dates CONTINUING EDUCATION Organiser of continuing education, program, workshop etc, presenter, title of the continuing education, participant, other contributions IN-SERVICE TRAINING Organizer of in-service programs, workshops etc. title of in-service, presenter, participant, other contributions TEACHING INVOLVEMENT Undergraduate teaching / Postgraduate teaching CLINICAL CONTRIBUTION Undergraduate clinical supervision / Postgraduate clinical supervision PUBLICATIONS (International, National, State, Local) Peer reviewed international journal, peer reviewed national journal, peer reviewed state journal, book chapter, article in state newsletter, letter to the editor, book review for publications GRANTS (International, National, State, Local) Successful grant applications, unsuccessful grant applications, referee for a grant application.
