Easily introduce new services without the need for additional Subscriber Data Stores
Success stories
Safaricom enhances end-user experience through true convergence of its subscribers Safaricom has now additional new capacity to handle subscriber growth and can offer unique applications such as Mobile Number Portability and Equipment Identity Register. Another value add offered by Nokia Siemens Networks is the three redundant sites it has developed, providing Safaricom a robust geo-redundant architecture for maximum resilience. In addition, the NVS and HSS front-end applications will provide VoIP and IMS capabilities, providing the foundation for Safaricom to evolve to IP technology in the near future. T-Mobile Germany gets closer to its customers and reduces operating costs T-Mobile was able to reduce the number of database equipment sites from ten to three. Using inexpensive off-theshelf hardware, this consolidation alone saved around 55 percent in overall subscriber data storage costs, including a 50 percent reduction in database energy consumption. Instead of having to co-ordinate subscriber creation operations and data updates over multiple systems, their provisioning system now has a single point of access with a unified database. And with all customer information instantly available to all applications, the time to market of a new service will drop from a few hours or even a few days to near real-time. We are happy to be working with Nokia Siemens Networks to radically streamline our network and service architecture with its best-of-breed subscriber management system. The deployment of this system is part of our ongoing efforts to redesign our network over the next few years, starting first with multimedia messaging and with other applications to follow. Joachim Horn, CTO, T-Mobile International
Peters profile is updated on the One-NDS and his service is activated. He can now enjoy faster video services immediately and doesnt have to wait for hours or days.
With Peters consolidated subscriber data on the One-NDS, MyTelco is able to offer him new services without having to store duplicate profiles in different data stores. This saves costs and speeds-up time-to-revenue for new services.
What is One-NDS?
One-NDS consolidates subscriber profile information across networks and services into a single repository, reduces data silos and proprietary interfaces between applications and the data they require. It addresses the requirement for a massively scalable, high-performance, continuously available data repository that enables rapid and cost-effective development of new applications and services. One-NDS allows to gain new insights into service usage and subscriber behavior, allowing for tailored services and up-selling.
