Specialist Welding
DTEC can address all types of on site welding. We can supply new or replacement nozzles to the main recognised codes (ASME V111, BS 5500 etc) and install them at site with our own multi qualified welders. We can replace all types of tower attachments such as bolting bars, tray rings, beam supports etc. We can install fully welded equipment such as chimney trays, vane inlet devices and vapour horns. We have experience of all types of welding techniques including temper bead welding on stress relieved columns, manual weld overlay and installation of patch plates and new column sections.
The Vclad weld overlay process, developed by DTEC, is engineered to combine digitally controlled synergic welding technology with multidirectional programmable automation. The result is a high quality and productive weld overlay process that can be applied to many repair and upgrade scenarios, ranging from replacement of original equipment design materials through to the application of corrosion resistant alloys.
Corrosion and material degradation in process vessels present plant operators and designers with many challenges. Vclad weld overlay provides the solution to managing repairs and material upgrades on site within the constraints of turnaround schedules.
Vclad is a fully fusion welding process. The deposited weld overlay exhibits a dense microstructure consistent with that of wrought material, and is therefore impervious.
Collaborative assessment and review of corrosion and erosion damage by DTEC Engineering will enable practical and permanent repair solutions to be applied to critical process equipment, and prevent premature retirement, down-rating, or compromised reliability.
