Welcome to DTEC Site Services Ltd. We are a progressive and innovative company who specialise in the field of Refinery and Petrochemical Turnaround Services. Our mission is to provide a global one stop shop for the work associated with column shutdowns. We operate with a highly experienced management team and workforce who have the capability to perform anything from single column inspections through to multi tower events. We have successfully completed major revamp work on the likes of Fractionator Columns, Vacuum and Crude units. Our extended range of services covers installation of all types of distillation equipment through to specialist welding services including installation of nozzles and automated weld overlay for corrosion repair and mitigation. We also have a number of personnel with Offshore Training Certificates. DTEC will manage any alterations and variations to the work scope whilst our client benefits from having a single point of contact for the work. Not only does this bring simplicity to the equation but it also improves safety as the work faces are controlled by one entity thus eliminating multi contractor co-ordination issues.

Training and Human Resources

DTEC employs full time personnel for its key site management positions. We believe the success of a turnaround event is largely influenced by the strength of the project management team and their ability to work together professionally as a close knit group. DTEC provide an experienced team who work to each others strengths. The crafts workforce are employed on a contract basis. All new personnel are vetted by references and interviews. New starters undergo medicals and participate in an offsite safety induction and training days at our facility in Staffordshire. Selected personnel will undergo additional skills training either in-house or outsourced at TTE Training. The DTEC training column is used for various training activities including Confined Space Entry, Working at Heights, Basic Rigging and Slinging, Tray removal / installation and Flanged Joint Awareness Training. All personnel undergo in-house behavioral based safety training and will be encouraged to accept observational training on site. DTEC recognizes the national skills shortage and has formed close links with the local technical college. This has enabled us to recruit and train young engineers and introduce them into the industry. Our culture of providing personnel improvement via training and skills enhancement has enabled us to maintain a competent and loyal contract workforce.

Supply of Column Internals

DTEC has a UK based fabrication facility which is able to produce all types of trays and other column internals. We have our own CNC brake presses, CNC punching machines, guillotines, folding machines and welding bays. We have the flexibility to produce large quantities of column internals or just single trays. We hold extensive stocks of carbon steel and stainless steel plus all types of hardware associated with column internal installations. Hardware can be supplied to turnarounds on a sale or return basis. DTEC has a proven track record of meeting very tight emergency deliveries. In extreme circumstances, replacement trays have been produced in 24 hours. This service means our clients do not necessarily need to pre-order trays for columns with suspect tray damage. DTEC can inspect and identify actual requirements and manufacture within days and then go on to install within the remaining shutdown window.

Specialist Welding
DTEC can address all types of on site welding. We can supply new or replacement nozzles to the main recognised codes (ASME V111, BS 5500 etc) and install them at site with our own multi qualified welders. We can replace all types of tower attachments such as bolting bars, tray rings, beam supports etc. We can install fully welded equipment such as chimney trays, vane inlet devices and vapour horns. We have experience of all types of welding techniques including temper bead welding on stress relieved columns, manual weld overlay and installation of patch plates and new column sections.

Vclad Weld Overlay Technology

DTEC's Engineering division specialises in providing plant life extension and service improvement solutions for corrosion and erosion damaged vessels through the utilisation of mechanised weld overlay.

The Vclad weld overlay process, developed by DTEC, is engineered to combine digitally controlled synergic welding technology with multidirectional programmable automation. The result is a high quality and productive weld overlay process that can be applied to many repair and upgrade scenarios, ranging from replacement of original equipment design materials through to the application of corrosion resistant alloys.

Corrosion and material degradation in process vessels present plant operators and designers with many challenges. Vclad weld overlay provides the solution to managing repairs and material upgrades on site within the constraints of turnaround schedules.

Vclad is a fully fusion welding process. The deposited weld overlay exhibits a dense microstructure consistent with that of wrought material, and is therefore impervious.

Collaborative assessment and review of corrosion and erosion damage by DTEC Engineering will enable practical and permanent repair solutions to be applied to critical process equipment, and prevent premature retirement, down-rating, or compromised reliability.
