Tyranny of Racism
All African- Americans are uneducated, all Mexicans crossed the border illegally, and all Muslims are terrorists are all accusations that are made by the people of our generation. Racism, by definition, is a belief or doctrine that inherent differences among the various human races determine cultural or individual achievement, usually involving the idea that one's own race is superior and has the right to rule others. Together, let us end the tyranny of racism by: forgetting stereotypes about certain groups of people, becoming educated about other races and cultures, and lastly, encouraging yourself and others to try to become friends with another person of a different race. Forgetting stereotypes is one of the most prominent solutions in ending racism. Being ignorant towards other cultures is not tolerable by any means, and I believe that peoples ignorance towards other races is what promotes the existence of racism. Even though racism has been around for centuries, and was a major part of American history, the intolerance of others is unacceptable as people continue to reminisce the past and continue to stereotype people for things they never were a part of such as slavery. Many may object to this movement simply because they are too afraid to go against his or hers families teachings however we must forget stereotypes. Thus, the end of putrid hatred amongst the groups shall be abolished. Forgetting stereotypes is no easy matter however it does not matter what race you are, we should judge people by the content of their character, not by their background. We are all humans, living in the same world, thus making us a race of our own including everybody from the slums to estates, from light skin to dark skin, racism will be terminated after the obliteration of stereotypes. Together, citizens of America, we will end the reign of the racists through civil understanding of other cultures and becoming educated of what other cultures practice, perhaps even becoming engulfed in it as well. Racism is resulted from the intimidation of others opinions. How will this help? Without acknowledging what other people are like, they will not bother to acknowledge you. Learning about other cultures will help the people of the world understand each other more fluently and help diminish the intimidation between certain groups. Many people are startled by Muslims for the mere fact that 9/11 happened, however they do not realize that all Muslims are not terrorists. Most groups of people are stereotyped immensely through the violent or traumatizing acts that were performed by the radicals of those groups. With the knowledge of the normal citizens of where ever the radicals may be, people will be more informed and more educated on how the normal citizens of Muslims, Indians, Chinese or even Americans descent.

Bhakta 2 Together, we vow to learn about the unique cultures and races around the world than to ridicule them and have misconceptions about them. Studying the culture of different groups will not only ensure the general knowledge of other cultures, it will also ensure the sudden drop of racial slurs as people will gain more respect, knowledge, and a greater understanding of the different cultures around the world. Racism is man's gravest threat to man - the maximum of hatred for a minimum of reason. Abraham Joshua Heschel. Tortured, terrorized, and traumatized, Heschel witnessed the cancer of racism as the Nazis destroyed his home and killed his entire family. Furthermore, we can end racism by merely becoming friends with other people of different races, by simply putting your differences aside and relishing the things you have in common. Becoming friends with people of different races exemplifies the fall of racism as it symbolizes the key concepts of ending such intolerance: ignoring stereotypes and engaging yourself into a new culture as your friend(s) will engulf you into their culture and help you understand the daily lives and the struggle of those people. Finally, becoming friends with others of different races will help end the tyranny of racism because it will end the intimidation, and tension between people will plummet vastly, and people will have a greater understanding and respect for each other. In conclusion, I vow alongside with the other civil rights activists to end racism now by ending the use of stereotypes, becoming educated about other cultures and races, and creating civil relationships with other people of different races.
