London
London is a big city, so many people usually go to work by public transport or car. Three million
people travel on the London Underground (or Tube) every day. Why? The Tube is not cheap, but its
fast, and connects the various areas of the city. There are twelve different lines. Some lines are old and
some are new. The lines have different colours on the Underground map. For example, the Circle Line
is yellow and the District Line is green. The colour also appears on all the signs on that line. This
helps travellers. So if you visit London get a map of the Tube at the ticket office: its free!
