Grace Covenant Church, A great place to grow!

V OLU M E 8 , I SS UE 3 MA R C H 20 14

Grace Covenant Church is a great place to grow. I believe it and I continue to pray that Gods will be done in this church, town, state and country. The month of February has gone fast. In spite of some set backs, Grace is more ready than ever to continue the mission we have been entrusted with: to become a family of faith for our neighborhood. In being a family of faith of different cultures and generations, we show that God unites people that are traditionally not supposed to get along. Many new faces at GCC, getting involved in our DNA group, discipleship, Sunday Services and Sunday School. We have welcomed David Ceja to our church as our new Youth Leader. We have been praying and diligently working towards this goal. Now that we have it, we are excited. Our youth continued to be cared for by a great team of people: Adam Moore, Nicole and Marvin Soares, Walter Lomeli and Berenice Chico. These are amazing people who love our youth and are making a difference. We kicked off a brand new ministry at Grace called: Movie Night. We gathered for the first time on Friday, Feb 21st, just across from our church at the Village, to watch a movie called The Ultimate Gift. This was more than just watching a movie together. This was an effort to see where God is found in the story and the life applications discovered in this great story. We had great snacks and a good number of people showed up, ranging in cultures and generations, just like our church. Our next movie will be shown on March 21st, at the same place and childcare is provided. Dont miss it. Finally, we will be welcoming an incredible Wheaton College Gospel choir from Illinois. Saturday, March 15th, at 6pm, you have a date with some great music. We have invited but not yet confirmed that some choirs from the Village may also perform. This is a free concert with the specific purpose to worship God and to invite our friends and family in our community. As we get near Lent season, I invite you to open your heart and allow the Holy Spirit to heal you and transform you into his image. We will lay the ground work in our sermon series: The Personality of Sin, that started today. Allow God to speak to you and carry you closer to him. That is my prayer, that we may all be transformed into the church we were called to be. Much love, Gods people! Pastor Danny

I am in a new season and God has led me to now grow at Grace Covenant Church. Grace has given me the opportunity to attend seminary and am currently in the CHET program. I have graduated with my pre-ministerial degree and by the end of this year I will be graduating with my ministerial degree. Pastor Danny has been a great mentor to me personally giving advice and spending time to help me advance in my ministry. He has not only been a good mentor but I can say he has also been a good friend to me. I'm looking forward in being part of what God is doing at Grace Covenant Church. As the youth leader I am looking forward to seeing the youth grow in their personal relationship with God. Just like it says on the banner I believe that Grace Covenant is a great place to grow.
